30-DAY 11

30-DAY 11

Chapter 11

That night, I spent several hours with my mom at the police station, and I finally pieced together what had actually happened.

After we left, Jackson had slowly walked back to the operating room alone.

There he found Morgan and his mom in a physical altercation.

Jackson rushed over to break it up, but his mom grabbed him by the arm and started crying while she laid into him.

“If it weren’t for her, your dad would never be in this condition. I told her to leave, but she lectured me instead! Saying that even if I

reported to the United Nations, this accident had nothing to do with her?”

Morgan stubbornly argued:

“It really has nothing to do with me. I wasn’t the one driving that crashed into you. You should blame your own bad luck.”

At these words, Jackson’s mom lunged forward and slapped her several times.

Morgan had been spoiled her entire life and wasn’t about to take this kind of treatment. She started physically fighting with Jackson’s mom right there.

Jackson intervened and managed with difficulty to separate them this time.

But Morgan, wiping away tears, still refused to leave.

“They only want you to attend a prestigious university to bring them glory. They don’t care about your happiness at all.”

“Jackson, why do you even care about such parents?”

With that, she caught Jackson’s mom off guard and violently pushed her to the ground.

Jackson’s mom, already under extreme stress, immediately fainted.

This really alarmed Jackson.

He slapped Morgan so hard she staggered half a meter away, then cradled his mother while calling frantically for a doctor.

Special police officers regularly patrol outside the hospital, and within ten minutes, Jackson was pinned to the ground.

After hearing the various accounts, I helplessly covered my face.

My mom’s expression was solemn as she carefully said:

“Girl, Jackson’s parents are both in the hospital now. I suggest you settle this. You can state your demands.”

Morgan exclaimed heatedly:

“Don’t think I don’t know what you’re thinking!”

“You just can’t stand seeing Jackson with me and want to drag him back to your daughter! I’m telling you, don’t even dream of it.”

Hearing this, my mom immediately stood up, ready to leave.

“This matter can’t be resolved! By the way, officer, this boy’s mother was knocked unconscious by that girl and is still in the hospital.”

“When you have time, you might want to file a case for that too. As for these two, detain them if necessary-we’ll follow your judgment.”

The officer turned and gave Morgan a hard stare.

“Young lady, you’re not even twenty. Don’t you know how to think about long-term consequences?”

“You’re so focused on controlling others, but did you ever consider they could do the same to you?”

Half an hour later, with the officer’s mediation, Jackson agreed to pay $5,000 in compensation, and the matter was finally resolved.

Our group left the police station.

My mom hailed a taxi and gestured for Jackson to get in.

“Your parents are both awake now. Go to the hospital and take care of them.”

Jackson stopped.

“What about you all?”

My mom looked at him for a few seconds, her face twisting into a mocking smile.

“Us? We’re going home to rest and recover, of course!”

“Jackson, I’m not pursuing any action against you for hurting Ava only because your father is seriously injured.”

“But don’t speak to us so casually as if nothing has happened.”
