Chapter 1
Before I could say another word, the paparazzi outside swarmed in like a tidal wave, their cameras flashing so brightly it felt I they’d burn holes in my eyes.
“Jessica! Is it true that you’re the long–lost daughter of the Harrington family?”
“You stormed in today–does that mean you’re upset that Nadia stole your place?”
“That fiery temper doesn’t quite match your usual sweet and charming image, does it?”
The sharp questions hit me like bullets, relentless and overwhelming.
In my past life, I’d meekly played along, letting Nadia take the spotlight as the “true” Harrington daughter.
She didn’t just climb over me to secure her place–she smeared my name, spreading rumors about my personal life until the internet tore me apart.
I ended up depressed and destroyed.
But this time, I’ve been given a second chance, and there’s no way I’m handing over my life to her again.
Nadia looked stunned for a moment, caught off guard by my attitude.
But it didn’t take long for her to recover.
She stepped in front of me, blocking my way once more.
“Jessica, we’re all thrilled to have you back, really. But you can’t just come barging in here and disrespect the Harrington family.”
“Your first big break was… well, let’s just say it was revealing. Dad was furious when he found out. Someone as dirty as you doesn’t deserve to walk through those doors without changing first.”
And then, she actually reached for my clothes.
I slapped her hand away so hard the sound echoed.
“Don’t you dare!”
“Whether I’m the Harringtons‘ daughter or not, I’m still a multimillion–dollar celebrity! Try touching me again, and I’ll see you in court.”
Nadia clutched her cheek where I’d slapped her, glaring daggers at me.
“You…!”
The tension between us was electric, the kind of drama the paparazzi lived for.

Chapter 1
They shoved their microphones right in Nadia’s face.
“Miss Harrington! Jessica’s a star at the top of her game. Aren’t you happy to have her as your sister?”
“She’s the biological daughter of the Harringtons. Don’t you think it’s a bit much to treat her like this?”
Nadia’s expression shifted into a calculating smile.
“Of course, I’m happy to have a sister. But these are Dad’s rules.”
“And besides, I’m about to debut myself, and I know the difference between what’s proper and what’s not.”
“Unlike some people, I don’t sell my body for attention. Let’s not pretend anyone here is better than anyone else.”
“I’m just doing my duty as the elder daughter, setting a few ground rules for my sister.”
I let out a cold laugh.
“Elder daughter? Let’s wait until the Harringtons actually acknowledge that title. For now, you’re just a bird in
someone else’s nest.”
“You-!”
Nadia trembled with anger, but with all the cameras pointed at us, she didn’t dare make a move.
I smirked, smoothing my hair back.
“What’s wrong? Isn’t this a reunion? If it’s not, I’ll leave.”
The paparazzi jumped on the opportunity.
“We heard the Harringtons themselves requested this reunion. Why would they turn Jessica away now? What’s going on?”
“Is it because of her critically acclaimed indie film? Are the Harringtons just not fans of art?”
“Do billionaires not appreciate cinema?”
Nadia’s face went pale, her lips trembling as she struggled to find something to say.
Taking back control of the narrative feels so different.
Empowering.
Just then, the Harrington family’s butler rushed out, looking flustered.
He leaned in toward Nadia and muttered.
“Miss Nadia, Mr. Harrington has been watching the live stream. He says he’ll be home shortly.”
He then turned to me with a condescending tone.
“Mr. Harrington wanted me to tell you–he knows actors love to put on a show. But don’t worry, you’re the only daughter in his heart. No one will dare bully you.”
