The smile on Julie’s face stiffened the moment she laid eyes on Samuel.
“Have you lost your mind, Samuel?” she retorted coldly. “Old flame? Connor was my senior. We’re not in some unspeakable relationship. Please be more respectful to both of us!”
“Senior?” Samuel scoffed. “Yes, you do think of him as your senior. As for what he thinks of you, I’m afraid it’s not that simple.”
“You!” Julie couldn’t hold back her anger any longer. “Samuel, you’re being completely unreasonable! Do you really believe that everyone’s like you and Cynthia? Do you think that everyone is as filthy and unpresentable as the two of you?”
Samuel’s face twisted when Julie brought up Cynthia. “Julie, how many times do I need to tell you for you to believe me? There’s nothing going on between Cindy and me!
“Cindy’s father was my teacher, and she saved me during the avalanche. I only have feelings of gratitude toward her. I treat her well only because I want to repay her kindness for saving me. I don’t have any other feelings for her!”
In the end, Samuel was still sticking to the same old story, making Julie bark out a
condescending laugh.
“Samuel, didn’t you receive any of my messages?” Julie asked icily.
“Messages? What messages?” Confusion was written all across Samuel’s face. “Speaking of the messages, did you hire a hacker to tamper with my phone? Did you know that the hacker deleted everything that was related to you from my phone?
“No matter how angry you are at me, Julie, you shouldn’t be so ruthless! Do you have any idea how close I was to losing my mind when I couldn’t find you or contact you in the past few days?”
Julie lowered her eyes. Her expression remained cold and calm when she said, “I see… I suppose you really didn’t receive my messages. What a shame. I’ve thrown my old phone away, so I can’t show you the videos to your face.”
She paused for a moment before continuing in an icy tone, “You can contact my lawyer. Howard has all the videos that Cynthia has ever sent to me.”
Samuel froze upon hearing her words. He suddenly recalled how Howard had shown him a video during the banquet two days ago. It had been too chaotic at the time. Samuel had too many things to worry about, so he never stopped to consider where the videos had come from.
He had assumed that Howard had hired a private investigator to secretly film him and Cynthia.

But when he gave it more thought, the angle of the video didn’t suggest that it was filmed by a private investigator.
The video had been shot from a first-person point of view, which made it more likely that Cynthia had been the one to secretly film it.
“Cindy sent you those videos?” Samuel asked, his eyes widened to the size of saucers. Disbelief washed over his features. “Has she gone mad? I explicitly warned her not to get you involved!”
Julie scoffed upon hearing his words. “So, you’re finally admitting it, Samuel. You’ve been messing around with Cynthia for a long time. You even have children together!
“Did you really think that I didn’t know any of this? Lucas and Anna are your illegitimate children, and Cynthia was the one who gave birth to them!”
