Chapter 23
“Samuel, Luke, and Anna are your flesh and blood! You’ll get retribution for this!” Cynthia screamed hysterically to no avail.
A group of doctors in white coats forcibly dragged her away.
Samuel announced to the world that Cynthia had cancer and required chemotherapy.
But in truth, she didn’t have cancer at all.
When cancer patients underwent chemotherapy, the machine would kill cancer cells in their bodies. But in the process, it also destroyed healthy cells.
So, the process was extremely brutal.
Many cancer patients grew weaker with each session. Their hair would start falling out, they would become more emaciated.
Cynthia, who never had cancer, was forced to undergo chemotherapy daily.
and
The side effects of chemotherapy ravaged her body. Her hair began to fall out in clumps. The once-lustrous locks had been reduced to sparse strands. Her skin began to age rapidly, with dark spots and wrinkles marking her face…
In less than a month, Cynthia looked as if she had aged a decade.
But that wasn’t the worst of it. The cruelest part was that Samuel had also ordered the doctors
to remove her uterus.
The loss of a uterus often caused women to age much more quickly.
The reason Julie hadn’t aged prematurely was that Samuel spent a fortune to buy an imported drug. He’d then instructed the housekeeper to mix it into her meals three times a day.
That was how Julie didn’t age prematurely after the loss of her uterus.
But now, all Samuel felt for Cynthia was hatred. There was no way he’d buy her anything.
So, after losing her uterus, Cynthia’s aging process only accelerated!
As for her two children, just as Samuel promised, they were sent to a distant branch of the Lloyd family.
Although it was a lesser branch of the family, the Lloyds were still wealthy and influential. So, the children would still live a decent life in theory.
However, many of the Lloyds had already guessed that the children were Samuel and Cynthia’s illegitimate offspring.

That was the reason why Julie was divorcing Samuel.
Everyone in the Lloyd family knew that Julie was the apple of Samuel’s eye. Crossing Samuel was a survivable offense because they could beg Julie for mercy. But offending her meant certain death.
Those who served in powerful households were masters at flattering the favored and trampling the weak.
The mother of the two children had offended Julie. The family’s staff would naturally not treat them well either.
A bleak future awaited the pair of twins!
But Samuel couldn’t care less. There was only one thought on his mind. He had to return to Kaubreta and bring Julie back!
“Please, Julie. Give me ten minutes to say what I need to say.” After flying back to Kaubreta, Samuel found Julie as quickly as possible. He got on his knees before her and spoke with heartfelt remorse.
“Julie, Cynthia and I have broken it off. I’ve already sent those two children away. I swear, Cynthia and her two bastards won’t ever show up in front of you ever again.
“From now on, my heart and body belong to you. I’ll transfer all my assets to your name. I was wrong. Please give me one more chance. I promise I won’t let you down again. If I fail you, you can kick me out and leave me with nothing!”
