Chapter 5
Early the next morning, I’d barely stepped into the classroom when Jaxon came charging at me, blocking my path outside the door.
His eyes were bloodshot with dark circles-clearly he hadn’t slept all night. He immediately launched into an interrogation:
“I told you to come to the hospital last night to pay for Willow’s medical bills. Why didn’t you show up?”
I couldn’t help but laugh.
“Why the hell would I?”
At my response, Jaxon looked at me like I’d grown a second head.
“Aria, I know you’re spoiled, but I never thought you could be this fucking heartless!”
“You’re the one who put Willow in that condition. She’s too kind-hearted to call the cops on you, and you won’t even take basic responsibility? Are you even human? You make me sick!”
“Ha, when it comes to being disgusting, who could beat you, Jaxon?… Move!”
I shoved past him and headed into the classroom.
Jaxon stood there stunned, calling after me in disbelief.
‘Aria, did you… did you just call me disgusting?”
Yeah, ungrateful backstabbing snake-wasn’t that disgusting enough?
But I didn’t bother responding to his question.
At this point, I just wanted to cut all ties with Jaxon. It was time for him to live the life he actually deserved.
Seeing that I was ignoring him, Jaxon stubbornly wanted to keep arguing.
ust then, his phone rang abruptly.
After answering, tears streamed down his face as he screamed at me:
‘Aria! What kind of quack doctor did you get for my mom? She’s dying!”
Without caring about missing class, Jaxon grabbed my left wrist and tried to drag me outside.
You’re coming home with me right now!”
¡LAP!
slapped him hard across the face with my right hand.
Listen up, Jaxon. I don’t like you anymore.”
‘And I couldn’t give a shit whether your mom lives or dies. Don’t you dare touch me again!”
‘Ha.”
Jaxon laughed bitterly.
“So because I helped Willow last night, you’re deliberately hurting my mom to force me to give in?”
“Aria, why didn’t I realize sooner that you’re completely rotten!”
