Johnathan gave a cold laugh as he glanced at his relatives–especially his aunt and a few others.
Before long, someone came in and collected samples of Chase’s hair and blood.
At that point, Sierra finally understood.
She found it all a little absurd.
How could there possibly be a problem? In a family as meticulous as the Wynns, Wayne would’ve verified everything from the start.
Besides, she had Autumn run a check too. What more did these people want?
Johnathan clearly found it ridiculous as well. He watched the entire process unfold with a mocking sneer.
The results came back quickly.
According to the comparison, there was no biological connection between Johnathan and Chase.
Johnathan’s aunt immediately jumped in.
“Dad, look at this. The truth’s right here in front of you. Do you believe it now?”
How was this possible?
Sierra instinctively looked at Johnathan, then at Wayne. But both men remained completely calm.
Wayne took a moment to catch his breath before speaking.
“Looks like I really am getting old. Otherwise, you wouldn’t dare try a stunt like this right in front of me.”
Johnathan’s aunt and the others turned pale. She couldn’t help saying.
“Dad, I know you’ve always favored him, but just look at the evidence. He’s not even one of us! Sierra was with another man before. That makes him a bastard child!”
“Shut your mouth!”
Wayne roared. The burst of anger left him gasping. Johnathan immediately stepped in to support him and helped him get a few breaths of oxygen.
“Grandpa, let me handle it.”
Johnathan said quietly.
He never had much patience for Wynn family matters–but seeing Wayne like this, he couldn’t just ignore it.
He could already see death hanging around his grandfather.

“Well, look at you all now. You’ve grown bold enough to stretch your hands right under my nose. You really think I’ve gone senile? That I wouldn’t know who does and doesn’t carry the Wynn family’s blood?
He nodded to the old butler, who quickly brought in several people who had been involved in the DNA comparison just moments before.
Wayne might have been lying in bed, but his presence was still commanding.
He shot a cold look at the group.
“You’ve all been by my side for years. Wonderful.”
At his words, the color drained from their faces.
“Dad, it’s not what you think-” one tried to explain.
But Wayne waved his hand, and they were taken away.
Only then did he turn his attention to Johnathan’s aunt and the others.
“Whose idea was this?”
Johnathan’s second uncle was the quickest to respond. He immediately said, “Dad, I had nothing to do with this. I only found out when I got here!”
His other uncle was quick to chime in as well.
Jose’s aunt was the slowest to react. She just gave a cold snort.
“Look at you all–cowards. Weren’t you the ones always complaining about how biased Dad is toward Johnathan? But now something’s happened, and you’re all throwing me under the bus.”
Then she looked at Wayne directly.
“We’re the ones who did it. Dad, don’t blame us. You’re just too biased.”
Faced with his daughter’s accusations, Wayne replied calmly.
“You say I play favorites? Then go ahead–tell me exactly how I’ve shown favoritism. Do I need to say it?”
Johnathan’s aunt scoffed. “Anyone with eyes can see it.He’s the only one allowed to stay here overnight. No one else is. We’ve all followed the house rules. Why does he get special treatment?”
Wayne responded without blinking.
“Because I am the head of the Wynn family. And he is the future head. Does that answer satisfy you?”
Everyone knew that the heir to the Wynn family would always be mentored by the current family head. That tradition had been passed down for generations.
If that were the only issue, people might not have been so resentful.
