Chapter 23

Hospital.

Zackary was covered in bandages all over his body.

Fortunately, they were all just minor bruises and superficial injuries.

Arabella sat by the bed, waiting for him to wake up, while checking the surrounding surveillance.

The police came over again to complete the record.

After a busy day, it was already dawn.

Ryan hurriedly arrived and put a coat on Arabella, “You weren’t injured, right?”

Arabella shook her head, her mouth dry, “Can you help me buy something to eat and drink?”

He went to handle it immediately.

Just as the front feet left, Zackary woke up.

He blinked his long eyelashes, took a moment to react, suddenly turned his head, and saw Arabella sitting next to him

unharmed, then he showed a relieved smile.

“Are you okay?”

I confirmed it orally once again.

Arabella shook her head and then silently stared at him.

The eyes were dim and unclear.

Zackary’s heart started to race again, and he suddenly broke into a smile, saying, “This scene feels so familiar, you used to

be like this before.”

Arabella hesitated for a second.

He said, “I joined the university basketball team and got injured in the knee when the opponent played dirty. When I woke up, I saw you sitting by my bedside.”

“I thought at that time, such a familiar junior sister, a bit cute.”

Years later, when he mentioned the past, there was a sense of unfamiliarity and haze.

It is indeed the case.

Arabella watched helplessly as he was knocked down, feeling scared and worried, determined to take care of him.

Afterward, they went to find the referee to argue about the theory, and it took a long time before they were given the scores they deserved.

There were also times when she was so bright and passionate towards him.

“Later, I heard that the referee was pestered by a little girl so much that he changed the score, which was very

unbelievable.”

“Arabella, thank you.”

“You did so much for me, but it wasn’t until today that I understood its significance.”

Zackary stared at her fixedly.

The amber-colored eyes were filled with overflowing emotions.

In the past, Arabella was always infatuated with those amber-colored eyes.

Now, however, I can stare at it without any fluctuations.

Arabella smiled indifferently and said, “Youthful, there is always an endless supply of energy.”

Her hands were trembling, but her tone remained calm, “I’ll call the police.”

Zackary pursed his lips, wanting to say something but not knowing what would be appropriate.

It seems that only faded memories can retain her for a moment.

“I have kept the sunflower you gave me when I graduated from college.”

“I thought at that time, as long as I saw you again, I would force myself to be brave.”

He spoke softly.

I don’t know if it was said to Arabella or oneself.

Arabella was slightly distracted.

Did he force himself to be brave? Was there anything he was afraid of?

What does the grandson of Pinnacle Group want and have everything, and what is he afraid of?

Zackary changed the subject and asked her, “Do you still have your graduation photos?”

He still didn’t let go, instead, he felt sorry. “Did you catch a cold? I’m sorry, I admit that I’ve been too busy lately and neglected your feelings. Can I take you to take new photos in a couple of days after I finish my busy schedule? I’ll make up for all the ones that got burned, double the amount!”

She had already lost everything when she decided to start a new life.

Zackary was dumbfounded.

Amid the silence, Ryan turned the breakfast door and entered.

“I bought your favorite food.”

After exchanging glances with Zackary, he said, “Luckily, I bought an extra one.”

Arabella saw through his lie briefly and said, “What’s this about buying extra? You and I can share one.”

“I stayed up all night, so I didn’t have much appetite.”

So, Zackary watched as Ryan gave him one portion and then divided the remaining portion into two equal parts.

“Ah, there were only two forks as well.”

After finishing speaking, I naturally handed Zackary a copy.

Arabella didn’t think much and stood up, gesturing, “Then I’ll go get…”

Ryan grabbed my hand and said, “Use mine.”

His eyes flickered and he corrected himself, “No, please allow me to mooch off you.”

It would be troublesome to make another trip.

Arabella did not refuse, she finished it herself first, and Ryan took it over without any disgust and continued eating.

It takes a lot of intimacy to achieve this.

Zackary was a little jealous.

No, I was very jealous.

In their six-year marriage, neither he nor Arabella had ever been so close.

However, it was not Arabella’s fault.

It was his fault.

Arabella waited for him to come home for dinner countless times.

His response was just “overtime,” “overtime,” “overtime.”

Letting those tables of dishes go cold.

Arabella’s passionate heart remained cool, regardless.

It was his own fault.

After Ryan finished, he grinned and said, “Now we have a relationship of sharing saliva, you have to be responsible for

me.”

I was attacked by Arabella with three punches.

“You could die if you didn’t speak.”

Although it was a complaint, there was a smile in their eyes.

Completely different from the indifferent embarrassment I just faced with Zackary.

He spoke again, extremely indifferent, “Ms. Reid, control your child. The company is not a daycare.”
