Quinn blinked, looking at me with inquisitive eyes. “It’s exhausting to have your own
company. You’ve got to deal with a lot of stuff, and most of them are complicated and tedious.
It’s far better to work for someone.
“What’s more, becoming a business owner means taking on heavy responsibilities too. If anything goes south, you’re the one who faces the consequences. No one’s going to share the load with you.”
I took a sip of my red wine and shook my head gently.
“As a man, I have to have ambitions and plan for ny future. Also, I’ll never know if I have what it takes to do it if I don’t take that step and give it everything I’ve got.”
Quinn had an added sense of respect in her eyes as she looked at me. She smiled tenderly and nodded gently. “Alright. Wishing you the best. May you find success in the field you pursue.

After several glasses of wine, things began to liven up in the room. I couldn’t help but ask her, “Did you meet John for a business discussion because you wanted to see me?”
“You got that right,” Quinn said boldly. “You didn’t call me, and that made me wonder if you weren’t interested in meeting me. That was why I got creative and made you come here. I had you cornered and forced you out of hiding.”
She looked particularly cunning underneath the dim lights, carrying a seductive but lethal charm. For her to climb her way to this position, she was far from being pure and innocent.
In fact, I didn’t want to have anything to do with her if I could help it. As far as I was concerned, I would draw a line in the sand with her, regardless of what she thought, but she held on tightly and just wouldn’t let go.
“Do you need a business partner? I can invest in your new company. Just give me the founder’s share according to the market percentage.”
I shook my head. “I’m all set. I already have a partner.”
“Hmm?” Quinn raised an eyebrow and unexpectedly leaned close to my face. “Who is this partner of yours supposed to be? Is she more charming than I am?”
I leaned backward subtly and responded politely, ‘She’s a friend.”
“Girlfriend?” Surprisingly, there was a trace of jealousy in her tone.
“No.” I shook my head. With where I was in life, I still wasn’t worthy enough to make Sophia
any promises. Naturally, I should refrain from saying something misleading.
Quinn patted her chest gently, sighing with relief “Okay. It seems I still have a shot.”

“Ms. Lavigne…” I was about to reject her, but she suddenly winked at me.
“At joining your company and becoming a part of your team.”
I was at a loss for words. Quinn was the master when it came to saying suggestive and misleading stuff.
“I don’t need a partner for the time being. After all, my plans have barely started, and they’re shrouded in uncertainties now.”
However, my rejection fell on deaf ears. Raising her head, she looked at me and asked solemnly, “I can always work for you.”
I chuckled bitterly and shook my head. “Come on. I can’t possibly afford the salary you’re worth.”
“Well, you can always pay me back when you can eventually afford it.” Quinn kept giving grounds, giving up on her rightful salary altogether.
I was genuinely surprised. I even started wondering if Camille sent her here to toy with me.
“Ms. Lavigne, this is a poorly crafted joke. Also, you are the heiress of the Lavigne family. Why would you ignore Solstice Global Estates and work for me?”
I rejected her instinctively, but she got up and sat next to me. She slowly leaned closer in a manner that was intense and passionate. “I never joke when it comes to you.”
