Chapter 22
“Katherine, don’t say things I don’t want to hear,” Andrew walked over and pressed her onto the chair, his face darkened. “You won’t see my stepfather again, and we will start over and live a good life.”
“Come, taste your favorite potato cake and chicken and sweet potato soup. Over the past four years, I have diligently practiced my cooking skills, so the taste should be pretty good.”
“Andrew, you were a 28-year-old man, please don’t act so impulsively, okay?” Katherine softened her tone, trying to communicate with him calmly. “I understand that your male pride is at play, so you are desperately trying to regain your dignity by pursuing me like crazy.”
“But where does this leave Sarah if you do so? You love her so much, are you willing to make her sad?”
“I had already stopped loving Sarah a long time ago. It was you that I loved. Unfortunately, it was only after
you left that I finally realized this.”
Andrew poured soup and placed it by her side, looking nostalgic. “You have been by my side for too long, giving me a sense of security, making me accustomed to eating the food you cook, falling asleep to the
lullabies you sing before bed, and wearing the clothes you have put together for me.”
“Whenever I turned back, you were standing there, never leaving.”
“I thought it was just a habit for you, but after you left, everything felt off. It was then that I realized, you had
already unknowingly occupied my heart, just like breathing, impossible to let go.”
“I couldn’t eat any food made by anyone, nor could I sleep. I crazily searched for your presence in every corner
of the house, like a person who has been cursed, with only one thought in my mind – to find you!”
Speaking of this, tears welled up in his eyes. “I loved you, Katherine. I’m sorry, I said this confession too late,
causing us to miss out on four years of our lives together.”
“In the future, I started a cultural media company for you, promoting you to become a renowned cartoonist,
spoiling you, loving you, and ensuring that you don’t suffer any grievances!”
“I didn’t need it!”
Katherine interrupted him and emphasized with a stronger tone, “I would achieve my dreams through my own
efforts, I don’t need your help!”
“I just want to go back quickly now and complete my engagement ceremony, do you understand?”
“Andrew, wake up, we can never go back to the past!”
“As long as I tried, we could go back to the past,” Andrew peeled the shrimp and put it in her bowl, smiling confidently. “Be good and eat well, later I will accompany you to the beach to pick seashells.”
Katherine angrily dropped her fork and got up to leave.
A cold voice came from behind him, saying, “I advise you to dismiss the thought of running away, because you simply couldn’t escape.”

“We are currently on a deserted island in the Mirrored Ocean, without my helicopter, you wouldn’t be able to
return to the mainland, understand?”
“What?” Katherine’s blood froze in her veins as she looked at him in disbelief. “You…you trapped me on the
island?”
“Well, to be precise, it was a private island that I gave you,” Andrew walked over and held her hand, his expression gentle. “I had someone plant a rose garden for you on the island, and these days are the perfect time for them to bloom. The scenery is magnificent. I also had someone set up a hammock for you to take a
nap in the afternoon.”
“You are really crazy!” Katherine shook off his hand and went upstairs.
Not long after, Andrew walked into the room and gently placed the dish he was holding on the bedside table, saying, “Katherine, you were too thin now, you need to replenish your nutrition properly, listen to me.”
Katherine turned her face away and didn’t want to pay attention to him.
The man used a fork to pick up a piece of Potato Cake and accidentally brushed against her cherry lips. His tone was oppressive as he said, “Katherine, don’t expect to resist me by going on a hunger strike, or else I will have someone dig up your father’s ashes and scatter them!”
“You knew my temper, I said it and I did it.”
Katherine was so angry that she couldn’t speak, she raised her hand and gave him a slap, saying, “Bastard!”
The man raised his hand and touched his swollen red cheek, with a mesmerized expression. “The sound of that slap was so pleasing, I really liked it. You should eat more so that you have the strength to hurt me, you
know?”
“Come, take a bite.”

Katherine’s phone was taken away by him, and now she was completely unable to contact the outside world,
and could only be at his mercy.
She swallowed the Potato Cake with bitterness and choked out, “Andrew, I hated you!”
The man’s dark eyes flashed with pain, and he dropped most of the food he was holding.
He was crouching on the ground, tidying up the mess. When he looked up again, the man’s handsome face had regained its indifferent expression. “I would rather you hate me, than let you leave to be with my foster
father!”
“Stay by my side, I wouldn’t mistreat you.”
After dinner, a group of assistants rushed into her room.
“Mrs. Thompson, please choose a dress and come downstairs. Mr. Thompson is waiting for you at the
beach.”
“Go out!”
“Mrs. Thompson, Mr. Thompson ordered the latest luxury pearls for you. Would you like to try them and see if you like them?”
“I didn’t want to!”
She furrowed her brows and scolded sternly, “Everyone, get out, don’t bother me!”
The assistants were scared by her temper and scattered in all directions.
She lay in bed with her eyes closed, half asleep, when she heard the deep voice of a man by her ear. “Didn’t you promise your fans to update five pages of comics every day? Get up and start drawing.”
“I allowed you to use the computer for two hours.”
Katherine’s eyes lit up as she sat up and took the computer he handed her, but then she disappointedly hung
her head.
The computer was not connected to the internet at all!
“After you finish drawing, I will find someone to post it on Facebook for you,” Andrew raised his hand and tousled her hair. “The only way for you to leave here is to listen to me, hmm?”
“I didn’t feel like drawing,” Katherine dropped her computer and lay with her back to him, sounding impatient,
“Go away!”
In an instant, she was tightly embraced by the man. “Okay, don’t draw, I’ll sleep with you for a while. It’s been four years since I last held you while sleeping, I miss you so much.”
Katherine wanted to break free from his restraints, but she was swept away by the man’s passionate kisses
He began to set fire all over her body, his actions becoming increasingly wild.

No matter how she begged, it was useless.
Katherine simply gave up struggling and let him indulge himself, her tone icy. “You once said you liked my cleanliness and simplicity, but I haven’t been clean for a long time.”
“Because of this, I have also done it with Dominic.”
“What did you say?” Andrew stopped, anger burning in his dark eyes, and he grabbed her neck with his large
hand, angrily demanding, “Say it again!”
“I have…done it with him!” Katherine fearlessly looked at him, her tone mocking, “Your stepfather is much
better than you, he always makes me very happy!”
“Now, the things you used to like about me are gone. I am not worth you being so kind to me. Let me go,
please.”
“Your family background is good and wealthy, and you are handsome. You must have met a woman who is
both talented and beautiful, who would give birth to a bunch of children for you.”
She was well aware that men like Andrew, who were proud and had strong egos, simply could not accept the
fact that their women had been intimate with other men.
Even if he loved her, he would still painfully let go.
Sure enough, he let go of her like being electrocuted and took a few steps back.
Suddenly, the man pounced like a crazed beast, his large hands once again gripping her neck tightly. “Who
allowed you to do that kind of thing with him?”
“You were only mine, a woman who could only be touched by me!”
“You didn’t do it with him, did you?”
“Katherine, you must have never done it before…” The man’s voice trembled, rendering him speechless. He
hoarsely continued, “You deliberately provoked me to make me say nonsense, didn’t you?”
“Done.” Katherine pulled down her nightgown and pointed to the tattoo on her chest. “I got a rose tattooed to
commemorate our love.”
Andrew, like a startled beast, raised his hand to cover his eyes and fled in panic.
In the following days, Katherine did not see him.
After dinner, she had nothing to do and took a walk in the rose garden. Andrew approached, holding flowers,
and said calmly, “I can erase the past, and we can start over.”
“I have come to this point, and you still refuse to let me go?” Katherine exclaimed in astonishment. “Don’t
forget, you have OCD!”
“I had OCD, but I didn’t despise you, and… I didn’t have the right to despise you,” Andrew forced a bitter smile
at the corner of his lips. “As long as you are willing to accompany me, I can compromise and give in on anything for you!”
