Deep analysis program initiated.
Data streams flashed across the screen, the antidote’s molecular structure diagram unfolded, and that hidden code segment on line 247 indeed held something amiss.
A backdoor.
Dr. Thorne had left a backdoor in my antidote.

something far more terrifying: Super Infected. And, they would obey commands delivered
via specific sound waves.
“Report!” Captain Ryder’s voice came through the comms. “Abnormal situation detected
within Eden!”
I switched to the surveillance feed.
Survivors in Zone Three were gathered together, their eyes vacant, their movements
eerily synchronized. Everyone was nodding at the same time, as if receiving some
command.
“What are they listening to?” I asked.
“I don’t know, but it’s been going on for twenty minutes. And…” Captain Ryder’s voice
trembled slightly. “A few people are starting to show violent tendencies.”
I immediately pulled up the bio–monitoring data.
Among the first batch of thirty–seven survivors admitted, four showed abnormal
fluctuations in their brainwaves. Aggression hormones surged, while rational thought activity decreased.
Dr. Thorne’s pawns were already inside Eden.
I cut off all external communications and activated full lockdown mode. Heavy alloy
gates descended from the ceiling, completely isolating Eden from the outside world.
“Everyone, immediate genetic screening!” My voice boomed through the loudspeakers to
every corner.
Captain Ryder arrived at the control center with his squad, his face grim: “Commander, we’ve found a problem.”
“What problem?”
“My deputy, Liam, his behavior is very strange. Just now, while on duty, he kept muttering some numbers.”

I pulled up Liam’s file. He had joined Captain Ryder’s squad three years ago, with
excellent performance and an A+ loyalty rating.
But, his gene sequence analysis results…
He was one of the 1% markers.
“Where is he?” I asked.
50%
“He’s just…” Captain Ryder looked back at the door. “He’s right outside the door.”
Liam slowly walked into the control center, a disturbing smile on his face.
“Commander, I heard there’s a genetic screening?” His voice was calm, but his eyes
gleamed with a crazed light.
My hand subtly moved to the emergency button.
“Liam, have you heard any strange sounds lately?”
“Sounds?” He tilted his head. “Are you referring to that beautiful music?”
He suddenly began to hum a melody I’d never heard before. Low, eerie, carrying a hypnotic power.
Captain Ryder and the other squad members instantly became alert, their hands on their
weapons.
“That voice told me,” Liam’s smile twisted further, “that you are not the true god.”
“The true god is waiting for us outside.”
I pressed the emergency button.
Electromagnetic restraints sprang from the floor, but Liam’s reaction speed was inhumanly fast.
“For the true god!”
He let out a bestial roar, leaped up, avoided the restraints, and lunged directly at me.
