Chapter 24

Bradley had never imagined that he and Esther had crossed paths 20 years ago.

Clark just looked at him in silence.

Bradley stood up and left the study. As soon as he was out, he called Jasper. “Jasper, which hospital is Esther in?”

Jasper was sitting next to Esther in the ward of People’s Hospital. His injuries from the brawl with Bradley were still visible.

When he saw the incoming call, he answered it and walked slowly to the balcony.

“Mr. Warner, as you wish, Esther’s half dead now. You might be in time to collect her corpse if you come now.” Jasper’s tone was menacing and mocking.

Bradley hung up without a word and then called Cole.

“Cole, which hospital is Esther in?” he asked.

“People’s Hospital,” Cole replied.

By the time Bradley drove to the junction in front of People’s Hospital, he received Liliane’s

call.

“Brad, Felix’s awake! Felix woke up!”

Bradley, who had planned to see Esther, asked his chauffeur to turn to the Warner Group’s private hospital without hesitation.

Jasper stood on the balcony for a moment, taking a deep breath before returning to Esther’s

side.

Esther was on the bed, crying in her dream.

Jasper patted her arm and called out softly, “Esther. Esther, wake up…

“1

Esther was startled awake from her nightmare. She looked at Jasper in tears and sobbed. ” Jasper, I had a scary nightmare. I dreamed that Tinkerbell died.”

Jasper turned away quietly so that Esther would not see his reddened eyes.

Esther immediately recognized from his reaction that Tinkerbell’s death was not a dream.

Chapter 24

Her daughter… Her daughter, whom she had yet to reunite with, had died right before her eyes.

Jasper consoled her. “Esther, I know that Tinkerbell’s death is hard to accept, but it has already happened. We have to be brave and look forward.

“Tinkerbell isn’t with us anymore, but Pixie is still here. I’ll look for her with you and give everything Tinkerbell didn’t get to have to her.

“And Tinkerbell grew up in a welfare home. She never got to know what a princess’ life is like. Esther, if that incident hadn’t happened, Tinkerbell would have been the apple of your and Bradley’s eyes.

“We should give her a nice funeral now and let her say goodbye to this world like a princess.” Upon hearing that, an unprecedented feeling of hatred surged from the bottom of Esther’s heart. She yanked the IV drip off her wrist before Jasper, disregarding the blood dripping onto the floor from where the needle had pierced her.

She ran barefoot toward the morgue.

“Esther!” Jasper chased her.

Esther found Tinkerbell in the morgue. She ignored the staff and forcefully hugged Tinkerbell

in her arms.

“Jasper, I want to see Bradley. I want to prove to him that Tinkerbell’s really his daughter!”
