I remained indifferent throughout, from beginning to end.
After he left, I called my aunt and said goodbye to her.
My parents left here ten years ago to pursue opportunities in another city. It was from that time that I was entrusted to my
aunt’s care.
I lived next door to Lucas, and we became acquainted.
Later, my aunt got married and moved away, selling the villa. I didn’t want to disturb her married life, so I temporarily
stayed with Lucas.
I didn’t expect to stay here for eight years.
My aunt exclaimed in surprise when she heard the news that I was going back to get married.
“Marriage? With Lucas? Well, well, it’s been eight years, it’s time for a decision.”
I pursed my lips and denied her guess.
“No, it was an arranged marriage, I didn’t know the other person.”
My aunt fell silent instantly, and after a while, she slowly asked, “Have you thought it through? I can see that Lucas really likes you, but I don’t know why he hasn’t gotten married yet. Should I go talk to him?”
I smiled indifferently.
“No need, it wasn’t love anyway, after all, we never officially proposed being together. At most, it was just a vague eight-year flirtation. If it doesn’t end soon, my youth will be completely gone.”
My aunt never expected that after living together for eight years, they had never even established a formal romantic
relationship.
She completely gave up on trying to persuade me and only said that she supported my decision.
Before I turned off my phone to take a rest, I started a three-day countdown on the widget.
The next day, I had my mother buy some local specialties from there and bring them over. It was a way to thank my aunt for taking care of me for the past ten years and a way to bid farewell.
In the evening, a delivery finally arrived.
I directed the driver and asked him to deliver the things to my aunt’s house. However, I didn’t expect to meet Lucas downstairs.
