Chapter 6

“Steve, you looked for me for half a year.”

“During the past six months, you became increasingly impatient with me, always criticizing me for not doing things well

and for doing things wrong.”

“I endured it!”

“For the sake of our nine-year relationship,” I endured. Because we were about to get married, I endured!”

“It turns out it’s not that I’m not good here and there, it’s in your heart, she’s better!”

Steve seemed angry.

Clutching the fist tightly, the whole body tensed up to tremble.

Vivian’s face turned pale as she approached and grabbed my hand. “Josie, it’s not what you think. Steve and I, we…”

apologize to you, okay?”

She wasn’t lying about what she said.

I called the ambulance in a daze, wrapped myself in clothes, and crawled to the door. I opened the door and sat down in

I walked in carrying a hammer.

My friend took a deep breath and stepped back repeatedly.

Then I saw Steve.

He was still wearing his home clothes, with messy hair and dark circles under his eyes, looking like he hadn’t slept.

He looked at me, his gaze heavy.
