Chapter 83
Outside the banquet hall, Noah and Cullen strode in together. Their overwhelming presence had left everyone present stunned.
Although it was clear that none of them knew who the two men were, they could see Desmond’s complexion immediately pale.
At that moment, Noah and Cullen had already arrived by my side.
“I was the one who gave him the courage. Do you have a problem with that?” Noah challenged. The moment he finished speaking, Camille immediately rushed toward us and pointed her finger at Noah.
Then, she roared, “Who the fuck do you think you are? How dare you interfere with the Laytons‘ and the Zenns‘ family businesses! Do you have a death wish or something?”
Camille surely was brave.
Noah frowned and said, “You bitch, how dare you speak to me like that!” Without any hesitation, he immediately gave Camille a harsh slap.
The sudden slap stunned Camile. She covered her cheek with a hand and began screaming, How dare you slap me! Guards, I want you all to kill him!”
Hearing that, Cullen sneered and said, “I’d like to see who dares!”
Cullen took a step forward and glanced at the bodyguards coldly. Then, he turned to Desmond and asked, “Desmond, are these the business partners you’ve chosen?
ac
“How dare they start insulting Mr. Fawke upon seeing him! They even ordered people to attack him. Don’t tell me that this is your idea?”
The crowd immediately broke out in an uproar.

I watched as Camille’s expression visibly fell, while Benson’s expression turned downright ugly. He quickly walked over to us and said, “I apologize if my daughter has offended you two. May I ask who the two of you are?”
Cullen glanced at him before he answered flatly, “I’m the eldest son of the Zenn family, Cullen Zenn, while he’s the heir of the Fawke family, the majority shareholder of Centrise Group.”
Benson’s complexion immediately turned ghastly pale.
The Zenn family was the second–largest shareholder of Centrise Group, while the Fawke family was the largest.
It was clear that they both held an extreme amount of authority and power.
“Oh, I truly am sorry for offending you two. This is entirely our fault. I’d like to offer my
deepest apologies on behalf of my daughter to you, Mr. Fawke,” Benson was smart and knew when to yield when needed. Without missing a beat, he lowered his head to show how apologetic he was.
He was indeed a seasoned fox.
As they always said, it was always hard for someone to stay mad at a smiling face. Hence, Noah couldn’t push the issue due to Benson’s apologetic attitude.
At that moment, Desmond walked over, giving Cullen a dark look.
Then, he turned to Noah and asked, “Mr. Fawke, why are you here? Today’s banquet is to finalize the collaboration between Centrise Group and the Laytons regarding the logistics project.
“If you need anything, we can always talk in private later. Is that alright with you?”
It was obvious to me that Desmond was trying to carry out his little plan. So, I merely stood by his side and watched his performance.
“Talk in private, my ass. Desmond, from now on, you will no longer be in charge of handling Centrise Group’s logistics project. I’ll hand it over to Max instead.”
The crowd’s expressions changed when they heard that.
Benson had already guessed the outcome of things, but his expression still fell when he heard Noah’s words. Even Camille had widened her eyes in shock!
It went without saying that Desmond’s expression had darkened considerably. It was tinged with a hint of anger.
In truth, I could understand why he was angry. After all, he had just finalized the details of the project, yet everything had gone down the drain because of what Noah had said.
“Mr. Fawke, I have spent a long time negotiating the details of this project. We’ve also just signed the contract. Isn’t it slightly improper of us to suddenly have such a switch–up?”
Desmond still wanted to fight for a chance.
Cullen roared, “Desmond, how can you speak to Mr. Fawke like that? Are you planning on angering him over a small logistics project?”
“No, that’s not true. I don’t want to make Mr. Fawke unhappy. It’s just that the contract has already been signed.
“Not to mention, I just don’t think that it’s proper for me to go back on my word since I’m the one in charge of this project,” Desmond explained.
Scoffing, Noah bellowed, “So what if you’ve signed the contract? You can always terminate it and sign a new one with Max. It’s that simple! Do I still need to teach you how to do such a simple thing?”
