Chapter 18
Just moments ago, Adam had seemed calm and composed, but the instant he heard the news, he turned tense and agitated. He grabbed Jeremy’s arm tightly and pressed him urgently,
“Where is she? Where’s Chelsea? Tell me now!”
“She’s in a town halfway up the mountain in Luxenport,” Jeremy replied, looking slightly nauseous from being shaken so hard.
Adam’s face lit up with joy. Without another word, he spun around and lifted his foot to go. A few of the pack elders stepped forward to stop him.
But Adam didn’t hesitate. He punched the closest one to the ground.
Right now, Chelsea was all that mattered. Nothing else even registered.
He stormed out of the pack house and hurriedly drove straight to the airport.
He was in such a hurry that he sped the entire way, and when he ran a yellow light at an intersection, a large truck doing the same, slammed into the side of his Maybach and crushing it against the curb.
The car crumpled on impact, and the twisted metal pinned his leg beneath the seat.
He struggled to unbuckle the seatbelt and desperately tried to pull his leg free, but the more he pulled, the tighter it got stuck.
Within minutes, his leg had swollen severely, and blood soaked through his pants.
Luckily, the rescue team arrived in time to pull him from the wreck.
But before they could lift him into the ambulance, Adam shoved them off, limping forward stubbornly.
“Don’t stop me. I’m going to find my Luna,” he growled, glaring at the pack doctors rushing after him, and scolded them to get out of his way.
“Alpha, your leg is in serious condition and needs urgent treatment. If you delay it, there’s a high risk of amputation,” one of the pack doctors warned kindly.
Adam ignored them completely and limped forward. The only thing on his mind was finding Chelsea.
The year he had spent without her had felt like a lifetime. Each day restless and sleepless, every second was torment.
“Baby, wait for me. I’m coming,” he murmured.
And in the very next second, he collapsed.
He tried to get back up several times but failed. Eventually, he had no choice but to be taken to the Pack hospital.
Adam refused to cooperate with treatment. All he cared about was getting discharged as soon as possible and finding
Chelsea.

“Let me out. I have to find my Luna.”
“Get out of my way!”
“Don’t touch me!”
Over and over, he got out of bed, only to collapse again, and only to be carried back by force.
Luna Sheila rushed to the hospital, only to find Adam acting like a madman. Her face darkened as she ordered the pack doctors to sedate him and treat him by force.
Adam was restrained and tied to the bed. He glared furiously at his mother, his elegance and dignity long gone.
“Let me go! I need to find Chelsea! Who gave you the right to tie me down?”
“Mom, just because you couldn’t keep your mate, you want Chelsea to lose me too?”
Adam had lost all reason, lashing out without thinking, his words stabbing straight into Sheila’s deepest wound. “Smack!”
Sheila’s palm cracked across his face hard.
Eyes red with anger and sorrow, she stared down at him.
“You’ve truly disappointed me, Adam. No one’s stopping you from going after her. The only person getting in your way is yourself. It’s your own failure.”
“You brought this all on yourself. If you could’ve stayed reasonable, you wouldn’t have caused that car crash, and you wouldn’t be stuck in the hospital now. And look at you now, you can’t even walk. Are you planning to crawl to her?”
Sheila was trembling with fury. She raised her hand again and slapped him a second time.
“If I’d known you would become this pathetic, I would’ve never allowed Chelsea to become your Luna. Think long and hard about what you’ve done. I’m done with you.”
She turned and stormed out, slamming the door hard behind her.
Adam lay there stunned, only now realizing how deeply he had hurt Sheila.
From that day on, Adam began cooperating with treatment actively.
To everyone’s surprise, his recovery progressed better than expected.
And the moment he was discharged from the hospital, he set off to find Chelsea.
