Chapter 11
Liam showed up at our doorstep every month to beg for forgiveness and wallow in regret. Despite how persistent he was, Ivy and I found his behavior extremely irritating, and we refused to see him.
Eventually, my dad, who was fishing outside, stopped him.
“Stop trying, Liam. You had your chance, but you decided to throw it away. It’s far too late for regrets now,” he told him.
Later on, Liam found out that I’d decided to leave the country because of the video Amy sent
“Listen to me, Yvonne. This is all a huge misunderstanding! We were playing a game of truth or dare. Nothing I said in that video is true!” he explained frantically.
Then, he told me that nothing had happened between him and Amy. He claimed that he was just making sure that they were living a comfortable life abroad.
At that point, I didn’t care about the truth anymore. It was no longer my concern.
Afterward, I started seeing someone new. I met my new partner, Sam, during the course of my business dealings, and we got along very well. However, when he proposed to me a while back, I turned him down.
I told Sam I wasn’t planning on getting married again.
“Do you want a new dad, Ivy?” I asked.
Ivy cheekily glanced over my shoulder. Clapping her hands, she responded with a huge grin, I’d be okay with it if Sam is my new dad!”
Liam saw the entire exchange. Upon hearing what Ivy said, his face paled. Subsequently, he walked off with a resigned smile on his face.
After he left, our nanny handed me a letter and said that he wanted me to have it.
“What does it say?” Dad asked curiously.
I didn’t bother reading the letter. Instead, I immediately tore it into pieces and tossed everything in the trash.
“It doesn’t matter,” I replied.
Two years later, I heard rumors that Liam was out of a job. He’d allegedly gotten into a car accident and was now in a vegetative state. Meanwhile, others claimed that he’d stabbed Amy with a knife and ended up in prison.
Chapter 11
I didn’t try to figure out what actually happened. As I mentioned before, it was no longer my concern, and it simply didn’t matter to me anymore.
