Chapter 25
Forget the misunderstanding from years ago, even just the candid photos from earlier were clearly taken from a deliberately chosen angle!
Ryan was aware of everything that happened today between her and Javier. He did it on purpose!
“Cassie, I’m begging you, okay? I’m really exhausted. Don’t do anything impulsive, please? I’m about to board. I’ll come find you tonight,” Cameron said.
Cassandra insisted, “Let me tell you once again, Cameron, there was never anything romantic between me and Professor Myers–not years ago, and not today.”
Cameron retorted, “But you still lied to me today, didn’t you?”
“What did I lie about? I told you I was coming to Stokelle with Daisy.”
“But you didn’t tell me Daisy was just your cover. Your real reason was to meet up with that old pervert in Stokelle!”
The words she wanted to say got stuck in her throat like a fishbone, making it hard to breathe.
“Believe what you want.”
“Then why don’t you explain to me about that night years ago? The two of you were in that hotel room all night long. What exactly did you do? Was there anyone else there too?”
Cassandra didn’t answer.
“Cassie, as long as you explain—even if you use Daisy as a cover once more and tell me she was there too–I’ll believe you.”
Still, she stayed quiet.
Cameron had already decided she was using Daisy as cover, so what was the point of explaining anymore? Besides, Daisy really had been there that night. But her secret wasn’t
Cassandra’s to share.
With Daisy’s current level of fame and her public image, she would be ruined if that secret got
out. Her life would be completely destroyed.
Maybe if she were an ordinary person, people would sympathize with her and understand that it wasn’t her fault. She was a victim too. But Daisy was in the entertainment industry now. There were always people waiting to pounce on any scandal and destroy her.
That secret would make Daisy a target of endless attacks. That painful past would become something for the public to gossip about at dinner tables.
“Cassie, tell me. Was Daisy there that night?”
Chapter 25
Cassandra couldn’t answer him.
“Say something! Even if you’re lying to me, I’ll believe you. Why can’t you just tell me?” Cassandra finally replied, “She wasn’t there. It was just me and Professor Myers that night.”
Cameron fell silent. The line went completely quiet on both ends.
After several minutes, she finally heard him ask, “So, that night… what exactly did you two do?

Cameron heard her silence and let out a heavy sigh. “Cassie, this really hurts me. All these
years, every time I think about that night–about how you looked in that photo with him, so flirty and close–it feels like a thousand needles piercing my heart.”
Cassandra ended the call. Her hand holding the phone was trembling.
Just then, Ryan asked, “Is he coming to see you?”
“Yeah.” She slowly nodded.
“Do you want to see him?” he asked again.
“Is it as simple as not seeing him just because I don’t want to? I’m staying at your hotel. I even came to apply for a managerial job here. You can send him my location, just like you did with those photos. Do you really think I can hide?”
Ryan suddenly turned serious. “If you don’t want to see him, I can make sure he can’t find you.
