Chapter 11
If Alice notified Aurora’s family, the closest person would be her husband, Ethan.
But Alice pushed that thought aside for the moment.
“Medication is actually a good idea,” Alice said, “but you still need to come in regularly for treatment.”
Aurora listened and nodded. She already knew that.
“All right, let’s try a hypnosis session today,” Alice continued.
Hypnosis…Aurora thought for a moment, then nodded.
She followed Alice to the couch and slowly closed her eyes.
In the darkness, many images were chaotic and disorganized.
Finally, she became aware that she was standing in a gloomy, overcast day. Soon, Aurora realized exactly where she was.
The cold, glaring white light and the terrifyingly silent surroundings.
Before her appeared her father’s body wrapped in white cloth.
It was the day years ago when she had gone to claim her father’s body.
Her mother was already sobbing uncontrollably nearby, but Aurora could only stare blankly at her father’s pale face, scarred and broken.
That year, her father had jumped from a tall building, leaving behind her and her mother as a grieving widow and orphan, and the shattered Sinclair family.
The scene changed, and Aurora found herself standing beneath the Sinclair Group’s office building.
Blood and brains splattered everywhere-red and white staining the ground.
She stood motionless, staring into her father’s unseeing, haunted eyes.
Around her came bursts of shouting. Her mother’s desperate screams mixed with others exposing the ugly truths behind the Sinclair family.
They were trying to tear the mother and daughter apart, as if trying to bite off their last piece of flesh.
There was no way to resist.
She was shoved down, falling into her father’s blood.
All around were people like snarling wolves tearing at them.
At last, a pair of shoes came into her vision.
“Aurora, the Steele family is here to protect you,” came a familiar yet youthful voice.

Aurora looked up and saw Ethan. He was still young, but already radiating the aura of a leader,
He wore a neat British-style school uniform. His eyes were calm black pools, filled with deadly charisma that quieted her
as well.
“If you have any problems, come find me, Ethan,” he said.
With a glance, he signaled those behind him to act in an orderly fashion.
The cleanup and accounting were all done by Steele family members.
He stood between her and the wolves.
He knelt, pressing a handkerchief to her face and wiping away both her father’s blood and her tears.
“Come with me,” he said finally, holding out his hand in front of her.
She grasped his hand, feeling the warmth of his palm.
A tear slid down the cheek of twenty-five-year-old Aurora.
She slowly opened her eyes.
Much had happened since then.
Ethan had taken her and her mother away from that toxic place.
He had used his position in the Steele family to settle everything.
Although the Sinclair family eventually collapsed and she was no longer the rich girl she used to be, losing her privileged life, at least she and her mother were safe.
So, how could she not love him?
But truly letting go only took a moment.
Aurora closed her eyes tightly, frowning.
The pain spread from her heart down to her fingertips in waves.
Alice watched all this carefully.
She sighed deeply and spoke softly, “It seems you haven’t completely let him go yet.”
Aurora didn’t answer immediately.
She slowly sat up and wiped the tears from her eyes.
“I have let go.”
When she opened her eyes again, they were calm and steady, without a trace of emotion.

Perhaps it was like this before, but I turned off the page now.
The Sinclair family’s troubles were hers alone to face and resolve.
Ethan-he loved Lilian, and he had broken her heart.
So she didn’t need to hold on to him.
Just like when her mother remarried and left with her stepfather, everyone had their own path.
She had made up her mind and was ready to let him go.
Alice nodded thoughtfully.
This place was not Ashire General Hospital but a qualified sanatorium catering to wealthy clients.
These patients typically demanded absolute privacy and comfort.
Medical records were kept separately and only stored within the sanatorium.
That was why Aurora had chosen this place.
She didn’t want anyone else to know about her illness.
Not even her closest friend, Isabella.
After some counseling, Alice prescribed medication for Aurora.
Aurora left the sanatorium and got into her car.
The medicine box clearly showed the dosage instructions.
A bottle of water sat next to her hand. If she wanted, she could take the medicine now.
But Aurora hesitated.
She looked down at her belly.
She decided to wait until she got rid of the baby before starting the medication. A few days wouldn’t make much difference.
With that thought, she put the medicine away.
No sooner had she done that, her phone buzzed nonstop.
She glanced at it and saw a flood of notifications.
All were about VocalNight.
Curious, she opened them, only to find most were about Lilian.
On the trending charts, there were explosive hashtags: Chapter 11

The notifications included Lilian’s latest short video.
Lilian looked weak in the video, but her face carried a brave smile.
Fragile yet beautiful.
“…Yes, the VocalNight production invited me. I’ve looked over the rules and content, and I found it very interesting, so I
agreed,” Lilian said.
“I will be one of the special guest judges. Please tune in to the first live broadcast in a few days.”
“Of course, this is a music competition, and I’ve prepared my own original lead song.”
Lilian smiled as she spoke. Her eyes were slightly red, and her pale, almost snowy skin made her look pitiful.
“Knowing that my time is limited, I reflected on the years of love, hate, despair, and acceptance. That inspired me to write
this song.”
“The song will be released on music platforms simultaneously with the live broadcast. I hope it can bring strength to
everyone.”
The video’s background was Vivian’s floral studio, decorated with various fresh flowers.
Lilian, surrounded by flowers, bowed gracefully to the viewers.
Following the video, entertainment channels added commentary.
“Insiders revealed that the song, composed and written by Lilian herself and performed by her, is of very high quality.
Many were moved to tears during recording.”
“Who would have thought that Lilian was not only talented in floral design but also excelled in songwriting?”
After that came a string of praise.
A short clip of Lilian’s so-called “original song” also leaked online.
It was just a brief 25-second instrumental, but it sparked a storm.
Countless video bloggers used that 25-second clip as background music.
Whether for writing videos, beauty tutorials, or even pet stories, every one of them went viral.
Numerous netizens left comments beneath Lilian’s video: “Oh my god, I didn’t expect Lilian to be this good at songwriting!
I’ve been looping those 25 seconds non-stop, really looking forward to the full song!”
“Such a shame. Lilian is not only beautiful and has a great studio, but she’s also a talented songwriter. Thinking she only
has half a year left makes me want to cry.”
“Aurora worked hard her whole life, but she can’t even compare to Lilian’s 25 seconds.”
