Daisy was scrolling through her phone, jabbing at the screen so hard it looked like she might poke a hole in it.
Sally didn’t even dare to speak.
After a long, silent scroll, Daisy suddenly stood up. “No, I have to go talk to Cameron and clear this up!”
Just as she said that, the doorbell rang. Sally went over and took a look through the peephole. She was instantly terrified. “Daisy, it looks like… it’s Mr. Dorsey.”
Daisy gritted her teeth. “Perfect timing. Open the door!”
Who knew that the moment Sally opened the door, over a dozen men in black rushed in from behind Cameron, immediately pinning Sally to the ground.
“Cameron, I have something to tell you–mhm!” Daisy was pinned down too. But unlike Sally, her mouth and nose were covered. A sharp, stinging smell flooded her nose and mouth. At first, Daisy struggled with all her strength, but very soon, she went limp and collapsed to the floor.
Sally turned as pale as a sheet from fear.

Cameron’s expression was as cold as ice as he glanced at her. “I’m here to find someone. You’d better keep quiet.”

The men in black quickly spread through the place, searching every room. When they came back, they all reported, “Mr. Dorsey, Mrs. Dorsey isn’t here.”

Cameron frowned. “She doesn’t have any relatives or friends in Stokelle. Other than Daisy, where else could she go?”

He turned and looked down at Sally, who was pinned to the ground. “Tell me.”
Sally had never experienced anything like this before. Terrified, she shook her head over and over. “I really don’t know!”
Cameron slowly walked over and sat down on the couch. He crossed his legs and fiddled with a lighter. “Cassandra came here with Daisy. There’s no way she didn’t tell Daisy where she went. And you’re Daisy’s assistant…”
He paused, his gaze icy. “If Cassandra gets hurt out there, even if it’s just a tiny bit, I won’t be able to lay a hand on Daisy. But you? I can make you pay instead.”
Sally burst into tears. “Mr. Dorsey, I really have no idea!”
“Very well,” Cameron said. He stood up and signaled the men he had brought with him. “Call the police. Report Daisy for abducting Cassandra. Tell them Cassandra is officially missing. I

suspect she’s been kidnapped. Let her sit in a cell at the station for a few days!”
Sally instantly begged for mercy, “No, Mr. Dorsey! Daisy is a public figure! She can’t go to jail!
“Take her away!”
“No, don’t! I’ll talk!”
Cameron studied Sally for a moment, then signaled his men to release her.
Sally crawled to the coffee table and pulled out an old phone from a drawer. She dialed a
number.
The call was quickly answered. “Daisy?”
“Cassandra, it’s me, Sally…”
“Sally? What’s wrong?”
“I…”
Just as Sally was about to speak, Cameron snatched the phone from her. He put the phone to his ear. His voice suddenly turned gentle, completely different from before. “Cassie, I can finally hear your voice.”
“Cameron? You went to Daisy’s? Where is she? What did you do to her?”
Cameron let out a bitter laugh. “All you care about is your friend. Have you ever thought about me? You just vanished. Do you know how worried I’ve been?”
“I’m fine,” Cassandra replied.
“Where are you?”

“No, you speak first. What happened to Daisy? Knowing her, she would never let you make this call.”

That was exactly why he had drugged Daisy as soon as he walked in. She and Cassandra were extremely close. It would be basically impossible to get her to reveal Cassandra’s whereabouts. On top of that, she was a public figure. If she even shouted a couple of times, a crowd would immediately gather.
So, Cameron decisively knocked her out first and then went after her assistant, Sally.
