The Day He Killed 5

The Day He Killed 5

Chapter 5

“It’s her! She told us to cause trouble!” As the police were about to move in to arrest them, the troublemakers panicked, all

pointing at Sophie.

The police immediately restrained Sophie, preparing to take her away.

She screamed, throwing herself into Ethan’s arms. “Ethan, they’re lying! Help me!”

Ethan shoved her away with one hand, stumbling toward me. He gripped my wrist tightly.

“What are you talking about? Divorce? I was scaring you! We haven’t even filed anything yet!”

I couldn’t contain the fury rising inside me and slapped him across the face.

It was the first time I had ever hit him.

Even when I hated him most, I had always remained composed, just hanging up the phone without losing control.

But now, all the restraint I’d held in shattered.

His eyes were filled with disbelief.

“Scare me?” I sneered, my voice hoarse with rage. “Ethan Blackwood, I want a divorce from you, you bastard!”

“When I saw that divorce agreement you sent, I finally thanked you for being so cold-hearted. I didn’t even have to lift a finger to get you out of my life!”

“Impossible! You’re hysterical! Even if you signed the divorce papers, there’s still a month-long cooling-off period!”

He panicked, forcing a smile, trying to pull me into his arms.

“I was wrong, okay? I did this just to get back at you. Don’t say that. Please, I’m sorry, Valerie. Can you forgive me?”

I shoved him away and slapped him again, this time across the other side of his face.

“Mr. Blackwood, you’ve seriously underestimated me. I can make you a famous doctor, and I can easily find a way to

divorce you instantly!”

I took out the green book-the divorce certificate-handed back to me earlier, and slapped it into his face.

“Open your damn eyes and look! This is the result of what you’ve been trying to stop!”

Ethan stood frozen, staring at the divorce certificate on the floor, but he didn’t dare to pick it up.

He kept reaching for me, his voice trembling.

“You’re lying… You loved me! How could you divorce me?”

“Valerie, I’ll explain. I didn’t hurt you or the kids…”

“The kids… I promised I’d stay with you today, for their memorial. Can we just let today pass peacefully and be with them,

quietly? Please?”

I looked at him, my eyes burning with rage.

I smiled coldly, my lips curling with cruel intent.

“The kids? How dare you even say their names?”

“My two children were killed by you and that bitch!”

“Now, even their ashes have been trampled on by you and your scum of a crew, scattered on the ground!”

“You deserve to rot in hell, tormented by their souls every single night until the end of time!”

“You’re no father! No doctor! NO HUMAN!”
