Chapter 5

I let out a dry laugh and yanked Paxton up from the floor by the collar.

“Go on. Tell her. When exactly did we get together?”

Paxton avoided Ursula’s eyes, guilt written all over his face.

“I… I met you when I turned eighteen, when I first sensed our mate bond,” he mumbled. “We’ve been together ever since.”

Funny-didn’t he just swear Ursula was his first love?

Ursula’s face was frozen in shock.

What a joke. If anything, she was the other woman-the homewrecker who wormed her way between fated mates.

Then, like a dam breaking, Ursula lunged at him, shrieking.

“You liar! You said I was your first love! You said we’d be together forever!”

The Enforcers held her back just in time.

“I’m sorry,” Paxton muttered, eyes downcast. “I lied to you.”

Back when he and I first started dating, I’d already caught him messaging other girls. But he begged for forgiveness,

swore it would never happen again-and I was naïve enough to believe him.

I never imagined one of those girls would turn out to be Ursula.

Of course, I only learned the truth after I died in my last life.

I turned to Tristan. “You heard all that, right? None of this was ever on me.”

He looked down, ashamed. “I’m sorry. I misjudged you.”

Then I looked at Ursula-no longer shaking, no longer afraid. Just bitter.

“Ever since you became Luna of our pack, have I ever treated you unfairly?” I asked coldly. “Anything you wanted, I gave you. I went along with whatever you asked. And this… this is how you repay me? All for a scumbag like him?”

“You’re nothing but an ungrateful, two-faced snake.”

Ursula collapsed onto the floor, sobbing like her world had ended.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to. He told me he was miserable with you-he begged me to save him. I was blinded-I didn’t know what I was doing…”

Around us, the crowd murmured in disgust.

“What a heartless creature.”

“Alpha’s sister didn’t deserve any of this.”

But just when it seemed her lies had finally unraveled, Ursula’s expression shifted-from despair to something darker-

madness.

“You’re all so focused on me framing her-but do you really think I’d do something this insane just for a man?”

Everyone stilled.

A beat passed.

And then she dropped the bomb.

“I was pregnant.”

Her voice cracked as tears streamed down her cheeks again.

“I lost the baby because she pushed me down the stairs! My child didn’t even get to see the world before it was turned

into a puddle of blood.”

Paxton jumped on the story like it was his lifeline.

“It’s true! She pushed Ursula! I’m the one who called the pack doctor that day!”

I couldn’t help but shake my head. Their acting was pathetic.

“You sure about that?” I asked quietly. “Do I need to pull up the security footage from that day and show everyone what really happened?”

That shut them both up.

And just like that, the crowd leaned in again.

I remembered it clearly-Paxton had come over to my house that day, and Ursula was with him. I didn’t know what they were arguing about, but by the time I stepped into the hallway, the two of them were mid-fight at the top of the stairs. Paxton shoved her-an elbow to the ribs.

Ursula lost her balance and fell straight down the stairs.

I was horrified. I immediately reached for my phone to call Tristan.

But Ursula grabbed my arm and begged me not to. She said Tristan had just taken over as Alpha, that he already had more than enough to deal with. She told me not to burden him with this.

“It’s just a miscarriage,” she whispered. “We’re young. We’ll have another.”

Paxton dropped to his knees, pleading. “If Tristan finds out, I’m finished. Please, June. Don’t tell him.”

I was torn-between my mate and my family.

In the end… I stayed silent.

Now, hearing them twist the story to smear my name, I felt nothing but disgust.

The room echoed with growing fury.

“These two are revolting.”

“They framed her and still had the nerve to act like victims.”

“They cheated, lied, and plotted murder… what kind of wolves are they?”

That’s when Beta Cameron stepped forward and placed a firm hand on my shoulder.

“You’ve been through enough,” he said gently.

Then he turned to Ursula, his voice steely.

“Ever since you became Luna, we welcomed you with open arms. We trusted you. And this is how you repay us? Not only have you done nothing for this pack-you tried to destroy it from within.”

“I’m done giving you the benefit of the doubt.”

The room fell silent.

I took a slow breath, letting the weight of his words settle in. Eyes from every corner of the bar were still locked on me,

waiting.

Then I turned to Ursula, lifted my phone, and said, “Oh, and one more thing. Since the moment I walked into this room…

I’ve been livestreaming.”

Ursula’s face contorted as she shrieked like a lunatic.

“What did you say?! You-you were livestreaming?!”
