Chapter 1
I hit my head in a car accident and the doctor said I might have amnesia.
So I decided to tease my husband: “Who are you?”
Little did I know he’d quickly glance at his twin brother and push him forward.
“Brother, your wife is awake!”
I overheard them secretly planning:
“It’s not like we haven’t switched places before. Just cover for me for a few days.”
“At least until I win over that college freshman.”
I stayed quiet, deciding to play along with their deception.
Later, lying in his brother’s arms, I made sure to speak loudly enough for my husband to hear.
“I think I’m starting to remember some things…”
His face turned pale.
“I don’t remember you being this good in bed before.”
His face darkened instantly.

The smell of disinfectant still lingered in the hospital room.
The doctor was explaining my condition to Jake, who stood vigilantly by my bedside.
“…There’s minor bleeding in her brain. Memory issues are possible. Family members should pay close attent ion and avoid causing her any additional stress.”
Jake responded with a hoarse “Okay.”
I turned my head and our eyes met.
Suddenly, I felt mischievous.
After the doctor left, gently closing the door behind him, we were alone.
I blinked my dry eyes and looked at him with complete unfamiliarity:
“Excuse me… who are you?”
Jake’s body visibly tensed.
A flash of undisguised panic crossed his eyes, but it lasted only a second before being quickly replaced by excitement.

Instead of answering, he turned and quickly walked to the door, pulling it open to call outside:
“Brother! Your wife is awake!”
Me: “?”
A moment later, another figure appeared in the doorway.
Same facial features as Jake-his identical twin brother, Ethan.
But their demeanors couldn’t be more different.
Ethan’s eyes always carried an unmistakable coldness, his jawline perpetually tense, like a mountain of ice
that never thaws.
Jake leaned toward Ethan, and the two whispered at the door for what seemed like forever, their voices to ow to hear clearly.
pretended to be in a confused, amnesiac state, but my ears perked up, catching fragments of their conver sation.
…It’s not like we haven’t switched places before.”
Jake’s voice drifted over, sounding impatient.
Just cover for me for a few days until I win over Professor Lee’s freshman student, then I’ll be right back.”
Ethan didn’t immediately agree, staying silent for several seconds before scoffing: “Last time on your one year anniversary with Nicole, you also had me cover for you. Is she your wife or mine?”
Brother, you don’t even have a woman in your life, you’re so dull. Just think of Nicole as a playmate,” Jake’: one turned flippant. “Besides, this keeps Mom and Dad from thinking you’re into men.”
Get lost,” Ethan coldly spat out.
The conversation outside abruptly ended.
n that moment, I felt like I’d been plunged into an ice bath.
So my marriage, the relationship I’d poured my heart into, was nothing but an elaborate scam from the begi
ning.
I was just a toy they could exchange between them whenever they pleased.
Immense humiliation and anger wrapped around my heart like vines, almost suffocating me.
But what could I do?
I was just an illegitimate daughter of the Johnson family, an identity that couldn’t see the light of day. What power did I have against the Wilson family, who controlled everything in this city?

Moreover, this marriage began as a naked exchange of interests.
I was the fool who developed real feelings.
