Jonathan had always paid close attention to Sierra’s cycle. But lately, with Victor arriving and his full energy focused on dealing with him, he’d missed the subtle changes in Sierra’s condition.
Sierra, being as carefree as she was, had completely forgotten about it herself. That’s how she ended up more than a month pregnant–without even realizing it.
“No wonder I’ve had no appetite these past few days,” she murmured.
Hearing that, Jonathan’s frustration only deepened. “If you weren’t feeling well, why didn’t you say anything?”
Sierra winced. She had just finished calming him down, and now here they were again.
“I thought it was just a bit of nausea. Maybe I caught a chill or something…”
Under Jonathan’s intense stare, her voice got smaller and smaller.
Jonathan was genuinely angry. She had clearly noticed something was wrong, and yet she’d brushed it aside as if it were nothing.
In that moment, he truly wanted to scold her.
“I was wrong. I’m sorry,” Sierra said quickly, her tone sweet and apologetic.
Faced with her soft temper, Jonathan had no choice but to let it go. With a sigh, he said, “Sierra, don’t make me worry. You’re going to be a mother now. You have to take care of yourself.”
Sierra nodded quietly. She was going to be a mom–to Jonathan’s child. It was still such a surprise.
They hadn’t used any protection for a long time, but nothing had ever happened. They hadn’t been in a rush and left it up to fate. Neither of them expected the baby to arrive this suddenly, catching them both off guard.
The next day, Sierra called the doctor and asked for a detailed consultation.
The doctor told her she needed more rest and better nutrition.
Because of her long–standing habit of eating irregularly, her body wasn’t in great shape.
And now, with the pregnancy, she was advised to stay away from the lab. Some of the chemicals and equipment could pose a risk to the baby.
Even if the doctor hadn’t said it, Sierra had already made that decision. There were too many unknown substances in the lab, and now that she wasn’t just responsible for herself, she wasn’t about to take any
chances.
The doctor then listed some foods she should avoid during early pregnancy. Sierra noted them all carefully–though she didn’t really need to. The butler had already memorized every single item.
No one was more delighted than the butler. He had served the Wynn family since the days of the old master. Jonathan was the third generation he had cared for–and now, he would get to welcome the

Jonathan came home early that day just to spend time with Sierra.
After several days of this pattern, his sudden change in routine didn’t go unnoticed by those who were watching carefully.
But under Jonathan’s management, the Wynn estate had become an impenetrable fortress. No whispers could leak out.
Meanwhile, Victor hadn’t been idle.
Piece by piece, he had assembled the truth: Susic was Nancy.
First, there was Susie’s miraculous recovery shortly after Nancy’s supposed death.
Then, Susie had inexplicably grown close to Wendy and Chase–despite having no prior connection.
And most telling of all, he had found Susie’s medical records.
Two pregnancies.
But Susie had only one son.
So when had the other pregnancy occurred?
Victor’s thoughts turned to Jonathan.
From the moment he first met Jonathan, he’d felt a strange sense of affection. Deep down, he’d even thought Jonathan didn’t seem like Chase’s son. He should’ve been his.
The sharpness in Jonathan’s eyes–the decisiveness–those were traits a coward like Chase could never pass down.
So what if… Jonathan was his son?
That possibility jolted Victor to his core.
He couldn’t sit still any longer.

“Victor’s here,” Jonathan replied. “He’s at the base of the mountain. He wants to see me.”
“He’s probably figured out the truth about Susie.”
With that, Jonathan stood. “I’ll go meet him.”
