Chapter 11
Cyril completely panicked.
His knuckles turned white as he gripped the phone, his face draining of all color.
Freda had changed her identity information?
Was she really planning to leave him for good?
No, no way!
They loved each other so much–how could Freda bear to leave him?
Cyril threw his phone down, his eyes bloodshot. He refused to believe that Freda would actually leave.
He got up to leave the mansion and ran straight into Jolie, who was holding a box with tears in her eyes.
“Cyril, this came from Miss Freda. What does she mean by this?” Jolie opened the box with trembling hands, revealing a realistic baby doll covered in blood lying inside.
There was also a voice recorder. Freda’s vicious voice played on repeat:
“Jolie Hart, you fucking home–wrecker. You seduced Cyril, and now you and that bastard in your belly are gonna pay. I’m coming for you, bitch, and this time Cyril won’t be able to save your pathetic ass.”
Cyril’s expression changed drastically. Hearing that familiar voice, the regret in his eyes gradually faded, replaced by growing coldness.
Had Freda changed her identity information just to hide and plot revenge against Jolie?
Compared to the thought of Freda leaving him forever, he’d rather believe the latter.
“Cyril, how did she find out? She hates me so much–what am I gonna do? This baby… I can’t keep this baby.” Jolie spoke with a trembling voice and turned to head to the hospital for an abortion.
Cyril grabbed her and pulled her into his arms. “I’m here. No one can hurt you.”
“I really spoiled her rotten. I can’t believe she’d do something this sick.” His face was grim, his anxiety and panic completely masked by rage.
He frowned deeply, glanced at the ruins of the living room, then carried Jolie away, leaving the box with the bloody doll on the floor.
In a corner he couldn’t see, Jolie’s face was twisted with malice as she smirked triumphantly.
Thank God she’d reacted quickly enough to create the illusion that Freda was hiding to plot revenge, making Cyril disappointed in Freda once again and refocusing his attention on her.
Chapter 31
Since Freda was already gone, she absolutely couldn’t be allowed to come back.
Cyril took Jolie back to the hospital and stayed by her side day and night. She couldn’t eat or sleep, constantly waking up from nightmares.
Jolie’s mental state deteriorated rapidly. She couldn’t keep food down, and the baby was being affected too.
Cyril was worried. As long as Freda remained missing, Jolie would live in fear every single day.
He decided to throw a party, using the public revelation of his relationship with Jolie as bait to force Freda to appear so he could explain everything to her.
As long as she stopped targeting Jolie, he would love her just like before and overlook everything she’d done during this period.
On the day of the party, Cyril appeared with Jolie, who was dressed to the nines, on his arm. Everyone applauded knowingly, offering their congratulations.
Thinking about how she could finally be Mrs. Prescott legitimately, Jolie couldn’t stop smiling as she graciously
accepted everyone’s blessings.
Cyril showed no joy on his face, ignoring everyone’s congratulations as he absent–mindedly watched the entrance to
the ballroom.
He was waiting for Freda to appear, certain she would come to confront him.
Time ticked by, and just as the emcee was asking Cyril and Jolie to take the stage to speak, the ballroom doors swung
open.
