She couldn’t hold back any longer, covering her face and letting out stifled sobs.
Liam’s face was even more strained, his gaze fixed on me, unwilling to give up hope.
He was waiting for me to soften and let them off the hook.
My lawyer then showed the surveillance footage the private room.
Chloe’s lawyer attempted to argue.

“She was just joking; she didn’t know the condition was so serious.”
“Furthermore, we suspect the plaintiff is deliberately exaggerating her illness.”
Hearing this, Chloe provocatively glanced at me.
My lawyer, unperturbed, presented a document.

And then brought out another piece of surveillance footage.
It was from a previous party we attended.
I had put my and Liam’s couple rings in my bag because they were inconvenient to wear while playing games.

The video abruptly ended.
A moment of silence fell over the courtroom.
Even the noisy “brothers” were quiet.
Chloe’s face was ashen.
She kept muttering, “No, it’s not true, it’s impossible, I didn’t see it…”
Liam suddenly turned to look at me.

He only then realized that Chloe had truly known about my condition from the very beginning.
And he, from start to finish, had been an accomplice who nearly killed me.
Liam hated Chloe.
He gritted his teeth, “Chloe, you vicious woman, you’ve ruined me!”
Chloe laughed and cried at the same time.
“I just loved you, is that wrong?!”
Liam looked at her as if she were insane.
As the trial was nearing its end, Mom pushed the door open and entered.
She wore a sharp, tailored suit, and sat next to me.
Her powerful presence was suffocating.
One of the ‘brothers‘ in the back made a surprised sound.
He pointed at Mom, his face full of shock.
