Chapter 24 Imprisoning Elaine
Elaine lost it completely. Her eyes were bloodshot.
Skylar’s torment had already caused her to be bruised, battered, and undignified. Even so, he was still trying to drive Eric to his death.
The only mistake she made all these years was choosing to love him, caring for him with all her heart, and pleasing him regardless of everything else even though she knew that he had feelings for someone else.

Even so, Skylar was still blinded and accusative toward her for mistakes she hadn’t made.
Her eyes reflected the blood–red color cozing from his chest and the disbelief on his face. Skylar couldn’t believe that Elaine actually attacked him.
He was well aware of how much she used to love him. If it weren’t because of her love for him, she wouldn’t have crossed the line and so heartlessly framed his childhood sweetheart, Thea, and forced her to leave the country.
Everything she did was all because she longed to be with him. So, how could she move on from all those years of feelings and be so cruel toward him it it weren’t because she had found another man?

Skylar had even forgotten about the pain he was in. He couldn’t even be bothered with tending to his injury. With one hand pressing against his chest, he grabbed Elaine with his other and dragged her toward the bathroom
In order to elope with another man, she even had the guts to try and murder her own husband. He was determined to show her whose wife she actually was!
He couldn’t wait to test the water temperature. He turned the tap on and filled the bathtub with cold water. Soon, water overflowed from the bathtub. Skylar picked up Elaine, who was curled up on the floor, and tossed her into the bathtub.
The coldness of the water pierced through her entire body. Caught off guard, she choked on the water.
While she was coughing violently, her head was pushed right into the water. The bandages around her came undone after getting soaked through. Her wounds that came in contact with the cold water sent pain ripping through her.
Skylar pressed her head into the water, then grabbed her by the hair and pulled her up.
Elaine’s wounds tore open. Though the water started turning blood–red, Skylar looked like he hadn’t noticed it at all With a towel in his hand, he started scrubbing her entire body as hard as he could.

The pain and the cold made Elaine tremble uncontrollably. Her lips had turned purple.
Her garments cling to her skin after being soaked in the water, and this was a pain for Skylar to look at. He ripped her clothes off and flung them aside. Then, with a cold gaze, he scrutinized her bare body that was soaking in humiliation.
Being in so much pain, Elaine’s survival instincts pushed her to grab onto the sides of the bathtub as tightly as she could while she did her best to get up and out of the freezing water. Due to the amount of force she was exerting with her fingers, she broke her nails. Yet, the immense pain she was in had left her numb.
All she could feel was the cold and her lightheadedness. The world before her eyes was spinning, and all she could hear was the sharp ringing in her ears.
Just as she stood up shakily, Skylar put his hands on her shoulders and forced her to sit back down.
Her face was clammy. Though, she couldn’t be sure if it was because of her sweat, tears, or the humidity in the bathrooms.
Even when she directed her gaze at Skylar, she couldn’t get a good look at him anymore. This man, whom she had once loved with all her heart, was now hurting her right before her eyes.
No longer able to muster up any energy within her, she leaned back against the bathtub. She couldn’t even tell where the chill was coming from or distinguish between the cold and the pain.
In a hoarse voice, she said, “Skylar, stop hesitating if you’re a man. Just kill me right away.”
She really couldn’t take this life of having to endure getting her flesh cut repeatedly. Yet, having worries of her own meant that even dying was a sin
Skylar stared at her, knitting his brows together

Skylar looked even more upset now. He didn’t touch her or say another word.
Elaine seemed to have been reminded of something, prompting her to jeer, “I forgot–you’re a heartless man. You’re heartless, Skylar Someone like you has no conscience or compassion.”
A bloody hump rose in her throar again. Devold of any strength to hold herself back, she let out a bout of painful coughs before throwing up a blood. Though it was just a mouthful of blood, she was in so much pain that it felt like she had coughed up her insides.

If he hadn’t been aware of that, he would’ve thought that she was on the brink of death at the current sight of her.
Skylar rarely fell ill. So, he wasn’t too familiar with things like illnesses. To him, it wasn’t serious as long as Elaine’s condition wasn’t life threatening.
He was unwilling to sympathize with her. Thea ended up in her current state because of her. Yet, she was out there, shamelessly seducing other men. Why should he feel any sympathy for her?
He turned around and lett the bathroom. After taking a bath towel, he came back and threw it onto a shelf next to Eleine.
The bloody water made him uneasy. He looked away from Elaine and simply said in a frigid voice, “Wipe yourself clean and come back out after getting changed ”
After he left, Elaine almost fell unconscious.
He knocked on the door from outside. Impatiently, he urged, “Elaine, don’t make me repeat myself. Hurry up and come back out here.”
He added frigidly. “Thea is seriously hurt and can no longer bear children. Since you were unwilling to behave yourself at Crimson Bar, don’t assume that this is over just because I stopped your brother from getting a heart donor.”

Elaine, looking as white as a sheet, had gotten dressed and was staggering out of the bathroom while holding onto the wall for support.
Fixing her eyes on him, she questioned in a voice so shaky that it didn’t even sound like her, “What in the world do I have to do for you to be happy?”
Skylar was reminded of how she had pretty much admitted that she had gotten close to Joseph while they were in the car. He couldn’t simmer down no matter how he tried. He grabbed her and shoved her onto the bed. Then, he lifted his hands to undo his the.
Seeing that he was drawing nearer to her, Elaine shrink backward as much as she could. With a defiant expression on her face, she shouted, “You should just stab me with that knife and get it over with. Kill me!”

“Elaine, I hope that you realize that even though I find you unacceptable, we are not yet divorced!”
Skylar pulled the bath towel off Elaine and forced himself on her without any regard for her.
She repeatedly rook sharp breaths because of the pain. Just when she was about to pass out, she dug her nails into her palmis to force herself to stay awake. Following that, she mustered all the strength within her and gave Skylar a tight slap across his face while he was tormenting her endlessly.
The attack with the knife from earlier and this slap made Skyler lose his patience. He pinned her wrists down on the pillow and growled, “Elaine, you’re totally asking for it! Thea suffered so much. I was too easy on you to have allowed you to go to Crimson Bar.
“Since you’re being ungrateful, fine. You can go serve that prison sentence on behalf of your younger brother!”
He pulled away from her and straightened his clothes. Standing by the bed, he said in an icy voice, “I won’t pester your younger brother anymore, just as you wish. You can either kneel and beg me or go and be imprisoned on your brother’s behalf right now.”
Staring at him, Elaine felt that he was being ridiculous. “Me? Begging you? Dream on, Skylar.”
She was well aware of the fact that Skylar wasn’t going to change his mind regardless of whether she begged him or not.
Skylar took his phone and sent a text. “Olay, you asked for it, Elaine. I’m curious to see what else you’re able to get up to after being sent to prison.”
Cops in uniforms arrived in a flash. One of the men presented his identification to Elaine. “Ms. Shelton, we’ve received a report saying that you were involved in an attempted murder case. Please come with us.”
