Chapter 13
Drew clenched his fists, his bloodshot eyes misting over as he lost control, violently smashing the
computer to the floor.
He kicked over the wine tower, shattered the large screen, and grabbed the documents mixed with broken glass from the floor, crushing them in his hands. Blood stained the white paper, dripping
onto the floor.
Suddenly, he laughed.
A laugh that turned to tears.
“Baby, you must hate me now, don’t you? You’ll never forgive me, will you…”
“How could I be so arrogant to think I could hide this from you?”
Drew staggered backward, his heart feeling as if it were being carved open with a dull knife. Pain coursed through his entire body with each heartbeat, making life unbearable.
Talia had been shocked into speechlessness by now. The usually composed and cool Drew had completely lost his self–control.
She didn’t dare speak, even her breathing becoming cautious as she longed to escape.
Suddenly, Drew turned to look at her. Her body jerked violently.
“D–Drew. Don’t be upset. Vanessa will come back. If she’s unhappy, I can leave.” She forced herself to offer comfort, her seductive face filled with terror.
Drew gave a cold laugh as he walked to her. “You don’t need to leave. You’ll stay right by my side.”
She watched him suppress his emotions and felt momentarily relieved–Drew still loved her. But his next words plunged her into an icy abyss.
“Once I’ve uncovered all your crimes, I’ll show you what it means to wish for death.”

Chapter 13
A murderous intent flashed across Drew’s usually gentle face as he ordered his men to take Talia
away.
Talia was too frightened to speak. Only as she was being dragged from the hall did she remember to
beg for mercy.
“Drew, I’ve been framed…”
Drew closed his eyes, but couldn’t block out the images he’d just seen–Vanessa’s pale face haunted
him like a curse.
He struggled to control his emotions and regain rationality before leaving the hall.
He instructed his assistant to investigate whoever had purchased Vanessa’s family home. No matter
the cost, he would buy it back.
“Mr. Blackstone, we meet again so soon.” The lawyer looked at Drew’s ashen face with undisguised contempt. “Do you think buying back the Foster mansion will make up for your sins?”
“Cut the crap. Triple the price. Sell it to me.” Drew’s face was stony.
“Not for sale.”
“It’s not up for debate. You’re just a small–time lawyer–what can you do against the Blackstone family? Ten times the price. You have one day to complete the transaction with my assistant.” Drew warned coldly.
The lawyer smiled dismissively and stood to leave. “Feel free to try, Mr. Blackstone. I’ve got better things to do than hang around here all day.”
Drew’s eyes narrowed as he stared at the lawyer’s retreating figure. “You know where my wife is, don’t you? She sent you with those documents–you’re in contact with her!”
Drew grew agitated. “Where is my wife?”
“Mr. Blackstone, legally speaking, you have no right to call Ms. Foster your wife. Morally speaking,
wife. you don’t deserve to.” The lawyer’s voice was ice–cold.
His words pierced Drew’s heart like blades. Drew took a deep breath. “What happens between me and my wife is none of your business. Just tell me where she is.”

Chapter 13
The lawyer walked out without another word.
Drew chased after him, grabbing his shoulder to stop him.
The lawyer shook him off in disgust.
Drew lunged forward, grabbing his collar. “I’ll give you one more chance. Where is she?”
“You don’t deserve to know.”
Drew swung at the lawyer, landing a punch. The lawyer retaliated without hesitation, sending Drew
stumbling backward into a glass door.
He crashed straight through, gashing his head as the glass shredded his suit in countless places.
Blood immediately covered his face, obscuring his vision. Then a wave of dizziness hit him, and his
world went black as he passed out.
