Drew’s face jerked to the side, his eyes filled with shock and pain.
“Baby-” He caught himself. “Vanessa, what can I do to make you forgive me?”
I will never forgive you. From the moment you decided to wait for Talia to grow up and marry her, this outcome was inevitable.”
“She’s insane now. If you come back to me, I’ll let her die. We can get legally married. I was wrong–I truly can’t live without you.” Drew desperately tried to explain.
Vanessa’s face finally showed some expression as she frowned, looking at him with disgust. “Drew Blackstone, stop making me sick.”
Sick?
Drew stumbled backward, his heart feeling as if it were being squeezed by a giant hand, making it impossible to breathe.
His Vanessa had called him sickening.
Tears fell uncontrollably as he stared at her through blurred vision. He opened his mouth but
couldn’t produce a sound.
At that moment, Mason walked in from outside, glancing indifferently at Drew before approaching
Vanessa.
‘Vanessa, Grandma Quintero says dinner’s ready,” Mason naturally took her hand.
Vanessa didn’t resist, following him outside without looking at Drew again.
Drew snapped back to reality and chased after them.
His legs hadn’t fully healed, and each step on the uneven stone path sent shooting pain through him.

“Vanessa, give me one more chance. I’ll love you properly. Please.” Drew caught up, blocking Vanessa’s path.
Vanessa’s brows knitted tightly as she replied impatiently, “I don’t need your cheap love. I stopped loving you long ago.”
“Is it because of him? Mason, you shameless bastard–you stole my wife!” Drew directed his anger
toward Mason.
“The shameless one is YOU! Why drag others into problems between us? You never take responsibility for your own actions. Don’t make me regret ever loving you in the first place!”
With that, Vanessa pulled Mason inside,
Drew tried to follow but was chased away by Grandma Quintero wielding a broom. “You’re not
welcome here. Leave now!”
News of Drew harassing Vanessa quickly spread throughout the village. The villagers organized a protection squad and forced Drew down the mountain.
Drew refused to leave, repeatedly trying to push his way back. Each time he was pushed down, falling and sustaining more injuries.
While Drew struggled with the villagers, Vanessa and Mason had already left via a hidden path, leparting from the village.
Grandma Quintero was reluctant to see them go and prepared many local specialties, asking them to
visit often.
Don’t worry, Grandma. I’ll come back. Take good care of yourself.”
Child, take care of yourself too,” Grandma Quintero wiped her tears, waving goodbye.
Vanessa turned away with tears in her eyes, walking a few steps before breaking down.
Don’t cry. We can come back anytime,” Mason handed her a tissue, taking her bag and carrying it
or her.
Vanessa gave a soft acknowledgment and continued walking.

Vanessa couldn’t visit them all individually. She and Mason planned to establish a company that
would work with relevant departments to improve living conditions according to each area’s specific needs.
Meanwhile, after being prevented from entering the village, Drew finally snapped. He called for his
security team, forcing his way in.
He searched the entire village but couldn’t find Vanessa or Mason. Frustration boiled over as he left
with his security detail, continuing his search for Vanessa.
The next time he located her was in Seattle, on the day her company was established.
