Ethan said he needed to handle some business in Bay City first.
That worked out perfectly since I wanted to meet with my lawyer.
So our first stop back was Bay City.
Unlike the pouring rain when we left, the sun shone brilliantly when we landed.
Ethan kept a low profile.
He wore sunglasses the whole way, holding my hand as we walked through the VIP passage.
By now, I certainly knew who he really was.

No one expected the victor would be a young upstart who hadn’t even finished college.
Even more surprising was Ethan’s thunderous methods and unconventional strategies after taking over.

But being young then, and with him having left the country for years, I never remembered his name.
Fortunately, we didn’t encounter any reporters this time.
Ethan and I arrived smoothly at the hotel.
He went to the company while I napped at the hotel, then visited the law firm after waking up.
‘Ms. Wells, your assets are being processed according to your instructions.”
‘Here are some documents requiring your additional signatures.”
‘These are the original contracts for properties already sold. You can take them with you.”
“Your personal assets are being handled smoothly, except for…”
The lawyer looked somewhat troubled. “Ms. Wells, you still have several properties that are marital assets with Mr.
Brown.”
“According to the divorce agreement, they’re split fifty–fifty.”

“But Mr. Brown… refuses to cooperate.”
“He claims you’re…”
The lawyer cleared his throat, “not divorced.”
I frowned.
“So…”
I nodded. “I’m sorry. I’ll communicate with him.”
I took out my phone.
After my roommates blocked Ryan, he created various alternate accounts.
Every day he tried different ways to add me.
I accepted one of them.
“Do you have time tonight? Let’s meet.”
Ryan didn’t reply quickly.
He was “typing” for a long time.
“Well~ Finally back in the country?”
“Oh What a pity…”
“Tonight this young master is taking Lily shopping. No time.”
I looked at his message, nearly laughing from frustration.
If he refused to cooperate with the asset division, we had options.
Apply to the Court for forced execution.
But our planned stay wasn’t long, and I wanted things to be simple.
Seeing I hadn’t replied, he sent another message.
“If you want to make up, it’s not impossible.”
“Tomorrow at my mother’s birthday celebration, come apologize.”
He added a hotel location.

Truly disturbed!
I blocked him again.
Just then Ethan texted:
“Had some outfits sent to you. Pick one you like.”
“Taking you to meet some friends tomorrow.”
Meeting Ethan’s friends.
My heart beat a little faster.
I immediately put aside the unpleasantness Ryan had caused.
I took a taxi back to the hotel.
Ethan had sent far more than “some” outfits.
Racks and racks of clothes, plus matching shoes, jewelry, and even makeup artists.
The entire room was packed.
Seeing how important this was to him, I took it seriously too.
I tried on combinations all night.
In the end, I chose a modest, low–key outfit.
Fortunately, Ethan hadn’t returned.
Ten years without returning, yet making a rare personal visit to the Bay City branch.
His level of busyness was apparent.
The next day, I slept through half the day again.
By the time I woke up, it was afternoon.
Dressed and made up, Ethan’s message arrived right on time.
“Sent a driver to pick you up.”
A strange number called while I was getting in the car.
Instinctively knowing it was Ryan, I declined.

But when the driver stopped, I actually saw Ryan.
