After taking several deep breaths, she was about to stand up and leave when Regina’s voice interrupted her. “Rosa, what’s with the deep breaths? Are you nervous about meeting Dr. Lange? What, are you afraid you’ll be too stunned by his handsomeness to breathe?”
Rosalie was speechless at her teasing.
Rosalie glared at her, “You talk too much!”
Ignoring her teasing, she stepped out of the office and headed straight for Thomas’s office.
Standing outside his office, Rosalie took deep breaths again and again, wondering what attitude she should take with him. Should she be calm, or should she be firm? After all, just ten minutes ago, they had had an argument. But no matter what, he was still her superior and now her mentor. If she was too harsh, it might seem disrespectful.
It was such a dilemma!
Rosalie scratched her head in frustration, still undecided about whether she should knock on the door. But suddenly, a cold, deep male voice came from behind her. “How long are you planning to stand out here? As a doctor, don’t you know how valuable time is?
Rosalie jumped in shock.
Turning around, she saw Thomas standing just half a meter behind her, his presence startling her.
He had already changed into his clean white uniform.
One hand held a cup of hot coffee, while the other rested in the pocket of his lab coat. His brow furrowed, and his stern gaze was fixed on her.
Clearly, he was unhappy with her “sluggishness.”
With him as her mentor, Rosalie suddenly felt like her career might truly become a “dark and hopeless” journey!
“I heard you were looking for me?”
Maybe because she had been/startled by him earlier, Rosalie was still struggling to speak
properly.

“Come in and we’ll talk!”
Thomas opened the door and entered the office, with Rosalie following closely behind.
He set the coffee cup down, picked up a document from the desk, and handed it to her. “This is
my schedule for the next two weeks, and this will also be your work schedule from now on!”
Did that mean their work had to be in sync? This wasn’t even reasonable.
“You are my assistant, and you’re my mentee, so you need to follow me on every task!” It was as if he could read her mind.
Rosalie felt frustrated.
Could she refuse his request? Clearly, she had no right to refuse!
She looked down at the work schedule in her hands, flipping through it briefly. Most of it was surgery arrangements, and many were large–scale operations–they were definitely going to be challenging!
“The schedule may change at any time. You’ll be notified accordingly!”
Once Thomas finished explaining, he took a sip of his coffee. Rosalie cautiously asked, “Dr. Lange, you really don’t plan on getting another assistant, do you?”
So, she still hasn’t given up.
Thomas lifted his gaze from the cup and fixed a sharp, piercing stare at her.
Rosalie flinched instinctively, feeling too guilty and shy to meet his gaze. She turned her head to the side, focusing on the two–meter–long Western oil painting on the wall, while still mumbling on recklessly, “I think your cousin–in–law Lydia seems to really want to be your assistant. How about … I give her this position? If I do, it would make her happy and, by extension, make your fiancée happy too, right?”
“Well, it’s rare that you’re actually thinking about me!”
Thomas leaned lazily against the desk, his chin tilted up slightly in a proud manner. His slender fingers loosened the tie around his neck, his gaze dark and fixed on her. “But here’s the problem: I just don’t want to grant your wish.”
Rosalie glared at him, puffing up her cheeks in annoyance.
