Chapter 5
Seven days passed without a word from either Jack or Ryan.
Rachel wouldn’t stop posting about their picture–perfect family.
That’s when I found out they’d gone on vacation to the Maldives.
Lucas urgently warned me. Evan Group’s assets were rapidly being transferred to Evelyn’s name.
“There’s a board meeting in three days. Your dad’s planning to sell off his voting shares. If you show up, you might still stop the asset transfer.”
I gripped Mom’s keepsake and whispered, “Okay.”
That evening, Rachel posted their marriage certificate online, and it went instantly viral.
“So Sarah was actually the homewrecker!”
“Someone bullied others their whole life, only to have their own baby be illegitimate, priceless!”
But in less than three minutes, the post vanished mysteriously.
Then Ryan’s phone rang. I had no energy to answer.
My bleeding continued for the whole week, and with my assets frozen, I had to hide in a small clinic.
Someone recognized me. “You’re Sarah who stole Rachel’s husband?”
“That’s her! News said she forced him to marry her, but he really loved the other girl!”
A sharp pain twisted my stomach, and my voice shook. “Call a doctor.”
“Stop playing the victim!” A pregnant woman shoved me hard. “You trashy homewreckers are the worst!”
Another grabbed my hair. “Babies like that shouldn’t even be born!”
“I’m not a homewrecker!” I shielded my belly, backing away. Touch me again, and I swear I’ll ruin your life!”
Ryan’s phone rang seven times, but no one answered.
Like a bucket of cold water, harsh words hit me.
“Still think you’re some princess? Evelyn and Rachel both married into wealth. What are you?”
I didn’t bother wiping the tears and kept dialing Ryan’s number.
When the call connected, it was Rachel’s sweet voice on the other end.
“Been ignoring Sarah so long, you’re not worried she’ll run off?”
Ryan let out a low, confident chuckle.
“I’ve spoiled her for years. She can’t leave me. We’ve never been apart this long. It’s just like a honeymoon, easy to make up. I even bought her an island in the Maldives. She loves diving.

His tone suddenly turned serious. “Once your baby’s born, we’re heading straight to the courthouse.”
The call cut off abruptly, and a furious crowd suddenly swung chairs at
me!

“Of course, she’s a homewrecker! Kick that trash out of here!”
I was at my lowest moment.
Bang!
A strong hand slammed down, shattering the chair into splinters.
A black–clad bodyguard shouted sharply, “Enough! Who dares call Mr. Durran’s child illegitimate?”
The crowd gasped. “No way! Frederick from the Washington, D.C.!”
