A faint blush crept across Miriam’s cheeks, her embarrassment evident.

“Why are you just standing there? Go ahead and give Ms. Simpson your number,” Thomas said, snapping Rosalic out of her daze.
“Oh!” Rosalie quickly regained her composure. Pulling out her phone, she asked, “Ms. Simpson, could you tell me your number? I’ll call you so you can save mine.”
What is even happening here? Thomas has created this mess, yet I am the one stuck cleaning it up. Seriously… what the hell!
Miriam didn’t want to share her number with Rosalie, but with no way to back out gracefully, she reluctantly recited it. Rosalie went through the motions of making the call, fully aware that Miriam had no intention of saving her number. The whole thing was nothing but a pointless charade!
Once they stepped out of the ward, Rosalie couldn’t hold back her frustration.
“Mr. Lange, your little ‘pretend to be a fool to outsmart the clever‘ act is underhanded. You know perfectly well she didn’t want to give me her number!”
“The hospital is a place for healing, not for romance!” he replied, his tone carrying the same noble reasoning he always used.
Oh, how convenient! He always has the perfect excuse.
But what about him and Tanya? Are they not involved in any sort of romance at the hospital either?
“Get ready, there’s a surgery in an hour. Inform the patient’s family to come and sign the consent forms!”
“Understood!”
“Make sure the surgery is recorded and sent to my email by tomorrow morning. I need to review it,” Thomas instructed, pulling a pen and a scrap of paper from his pocket. He quickly scribbled a series of numbers and handed the paper to Rosalie. “This is my email address.”
Rosalie took the paper and replied, “Okay.”
Thomas then pulled out another blank sheet of paper and handed it to Rosalie, his expression unreadable. “Write down all your contact information–your phone number d

WhatsApp.”
“Huh?”
Rosalie froze, taken aback.

“What’s the matter? Hurry up and do it! Do you want me to have someone else contact you if there’s an emergency with a patient?”
“Alright,” she muttered, reluctantly complying.
Rosalie dutifully wrote down her work phone number and handed the paper to him.
Thomas frowned, not taking it. “I need your WhatsApp.”
“My WhatsApp is the same as my phone number.”
Thomas took the paper from her, slipped it into his pocket, and continued walking ahead.
Rosalie couldn’t help but mutter under her breath, “Why do you need my WhatsApp? Isn’t it enough to contact me by phone in case of an emergency?”
Thomas turned around and gave her a quick look. “Why do you assume I want to hear your voice every minute of the day? For things that can be handled without talking, I prefer messaging apps! Got it?”
When did this man become so picky and awkward?
“Well, you could always text me, you know?” Rosalie shot back.
“Why should I give the telecom company a bargain?” Thomas replied, unfazed.
Rosalie was left speechless.
She really… had no comeback for that!
Sending texts could get pretty expensive, after all!
When did this man become so tight–fisted? Back in the days before WhatsApp and the internet, didn’t he still text/her constantly, every single day? It’s funny–he never seemed
