After leaving the Civil Affairs Bureau, I took
the dowry from the Sterling’s and went on a
shopping spree.
I loved racing, but my family wouldn’t let me
do such dangerous things and always
restricted my allowance.
So I couldn’t afford the cool racing cars |
liked.
But now, the problem was gone.
I took out the black card the Sterling’s gave me and swiped a Ferrari racing car worth $30
million.
Then I swiped a Bugatti Veyron worth $50
million and a Lamborghini worth $20 million.
After buying five classic racing cars, I had to
take care of my family.
So I swiped a Maserati for my sister and a
Bentley for my dad.
Oh, right, it’s my mom’s birthday next month.
I had to arrange a birthday gift.
A set of emeralds worth hundreds of millions?
Buy!
A luxury mattress worth millions?
Buy!
I spent a billion in one day.
My extravagance quickly spread in upper-
class society.
Overnight, I got another title of “spendthrift
daughter.”
That day, I got a call from Mrs. Sterling.
Chapter 2
“Wendy, honey, I heard you went out and
bought a bunch of race cars today? We

already have plenty of luxury cars at home.
You can drive whichever one you want.
There’s really no need to buy more,” Mrs.
Sterling said, her tone frosty.
Before I could even open my mouth, Sterling’s
sister, Bree, was practically screaming,
“Wendy, how can you be so shameless? You
haven’t even moved in yet and you’re already
spending our money like crazy? I can’t believe
you’re such a gold–digging bitch!”
Hearing them, I acted surprised. “But isn’t it
my money to do with as I please once it’s
given to me?”
L
“Besides, I’m spending my husband’s money,
not yours. Why are you so quick to question
me?
“Or did Sterling send you to scold me?
“If that’s the case, I’m gonna look down on
him. If he can’t afford the dowry, then he
shouldn’t get married. He gave me the money,
I spent it, and now he’s complaining that I’m
wasting it! The Sterling’s are worth billions
and you’re bitching about me spending only
ten million? I think the wedding should be
called off. I’m divorcing Sterling tomorrow.”
Bree nearly had a meltdown.
“Wendy, you shameless hussy! You’re wasting
my brother’s money and blaming us?”
I snorted and hung up.
Then I dialed Sterling’s private number to
tattle.
He picked up right away.
I played the recording of Mrs. Sterling and
Bree ranting.
After it was done, I icily said to Sterling,
“Sterling, is the dowry your family gave me
just for show? Am I supposed to give it back
after we get married?”
“Or can I only keep your money in the bank
and not spend it?”
Sterling paused for a moment. “I’ll talk to my
mom and sister. The money is yours to spend
however you
- ant.”
I scoffed. “That’s what I thought. I’m telling
you, now that I’m your wife, it’s your job to
spend money on me.
“If you don’t let me spend your money or
think I’m spending too much, then we might
as well call it quits.
“And your mom
and sister, I’ll let it slide this
time. If they ever try to play good cop/bad
cop again, I won’t be so nice.
After a long pause, Sterling said deeply,
“Understood. It won’t happen again.”
“Okay, bye.”
”
I hung up.
But I was a little surprised.
I thought Sterling would be furious about me
spending too much money, but he really didn’t
seem to care.
Looks like he never deprived Wendy of
anything.
