Although Mrs. Sterling and I were on bad
terms, I didn’t cause trouble when toasting,
and I didn’t affect Sterling’s career.
Sterling was in charge of the Sterling’s, so no
one mentioned the feud between Mrs.
Sterling and me in front of him.
The toasting went smoothly.
I relaxed and sat on the couch in the hotel’s
presidential suite after taking off my makeup.
But I remembered Wendy saying that Sterling
went to work on the wedding night.
I had to find out if Sterling was okay.
Sterling’s phone rang, and I walked up to him
barefoot.
I took the phone and turned it off.
“Honey, it’s our wedding night. Nothing is
more important than spending time together.”
I said.
I put my finger on Sterling’s chest and pulled
on his tie.
Sterling looked down at me.
I saw his Adam’s apple move.
Then he looked at me and said, “You’re right,
wife. I’ll listen to you.”
I scoffed and kicked him. “Go shower!”
Sterling raised his eyebrows and went to the
bathroom.
I pulled open the closet and changed into a
gown my bestie gave me.
If Sterling could handle this, he had a
problem.
Sterling came out after twenty minutes.
He saw me and hurried to pick me up and
carry me to the bed.
I panicked.
I went too far?
I couldn’t move until I was exhausted.
I heard Sterling say, “You started this.”
