Following Shane’s advice, Natalie chose a pale yellow sundress with a floral print and swept her hair into a perky bun. She looked every bit the sweet, charming lady next door.
Shane had warned her that his mother, Lorraine Parker, couldn’t stand flashy, glamorous women but adored bubbly, cheerful
types.
In that outfit, Natalie would have Lorraine fawning over her like a lovesick fan in no time.
Shane had already texted Natalie the address. On the way there, it suddenly struck her that showing up empty–handed to visit an elder wouldn’t be right.
She pulled up the nearest wellness store on her GPS, deciding to grab some antioxidant tonics and immunity–boosting formulas as gifts.
The moment Natalie stepped inside, an eager sales associate started guiding her toward the right aisle. But after only a few steps, Natalie’s gaze fixed on something in the distance. Her eyes widened.
