Chapter 1
Childhood Sweetheart VS. True Love, who would you choose?
Sophia’s answer: None of the above!
“Please… be gentle…”
With a large figure pressing down on her, Sophia murmured softly,
She felt like she was drowning, gasping for air in an endless ocean.
When she opened her eyes again, everything around her was dark, and the spot next to her in bed was stone cold.
That’s when she heard it–the woman’s breathy moans intermingled with a man’s gruff growls from the room next
door.
“Oh baby… you are so tight…”
Sophia’s chest tightened. The man’s voice from Nathan Sterling, her husband of five years, and also one of the city’s top lawyers.
The moaning went on for what felt like forever. Then came the other woman’s voice, all breathless and curious.
“Mr. Sterling… I don’t get it. Five years ago you fought so hard to marry Sophia. But why are you treating her like this
now?”
Five years ago, when Nathan proposed to Sophia, the whole city gasped.
He lit
up
the entire skyline with fireworks and bought out every florist in town–all to give her one grand ceremony.
Everyone was celebrating with them.
But after the wedding, he started bringing different women home every night, forcing her to lie awake night after night, while listening to the sounds of passion from him and other women.
“Because I can’t stomach that she’s been used by other men,” Nathan’s voice cut through the darkness, cold and brutal. “And that she once carried another man’s child.”
Upon hearing that, Sophia couldn’t sleep anymore. Her hands trembled as she reached for the light switch.
The voices next door went quiet. Moments later, Nathan walked in. “What’s wrong, Mrs. Sterling? Having trouble sleeping without a man?”
Chapter 1
Sophia stared at the love bites and scratch marks on his chest, her voice barely holding together. “Nathan, it’s been five years. How long are you gonna keep doing this to me?”
Looking at her pale face, for a split second, something flickered in Nathan’s eyes.
But then he remembered the day before their wedding–the doctor’s casual words: “Miss Williams has had a previous abortion. The damage means she’ll probably never have kids.”
His eyes went cold again.
“Doing what? Whatever I do, it’s still better than having an abortion before you’re even married.”
With that, Nathan slammed the door behind him.
Sophia stared at the door long after he’d left, completely speechless.
She couldn’t understand it–if he hated her so much for her past, why did he fight so hard to marry her in the first place?
Another sleepless night.
The next morning, Sophia dragged herself to the hospital like always.
Her colleague leaned over, whispering excitedly.
‘Soph, did you hear? Some billionaire heir just donated three hundred million to our hospital today.”
Three hundred million?
Sophia was surprised too. She had no idea who this mystery heir was, but that was serious money.
ust then, there was commotion in the hospital corridor.
The hospital director walked in with a bunch of suits following behind him.
Sophia lifted her gaze and her world imploded.
The man at the front had a commanding presence and it was none other than her ex–boyfriend, the one she’d dated for three years and been apart from for five!
Lucas Mitchell.
She never would have imagined that Lucas was the billionaire heir everyone was talking about.
Sophia’s heart stuttered. She almost called out to him, but then she saw the woman at his side–designer clothes, perfect makeup, the whole package.
Lily Ross–her college roommate and best friend.

What wree they doing together?
The nurses around her were whispering excitedly.
Oh my god, Lucas is so hot! I can’t believe he’s that young. Who’s the woman with him?”
“Asse… That’s Lily Ross I heard Lucas was dirt poor before his rich family took him back. She was the only one who
stack around.”
Tumn, she really locked out.”
The words made Sophia’s stomach drop.
Meanochile, Lucas was walking straight toward her.
Segidia looked at his familiar face, her chest getting tighter with each step he took.

His face was cold as ice, like she meant nothing to him.
“Well Sapabila Williams His voice was completely flat.
