Chapter 11
Meanwhile, Lucas got Sophia’s text at 5:30 AM.
Reading her message made his chest tight.
He typed back: [You like too scared to even show up to my wedding?]
But after he send it, a red error message appeared.
Lucas stared at the screen, stunned.
“Are you kidding me? You dare blocked me?”
He threw his phone aside, wide awake now.
At eight in the morning, Nathan’s call came through. Lucas normally wouldn’t have answered, but this time
something made him pick up.
He said impatiently:“What?”
Nathan sounded frantic. “Is Sophia with you?”
Hearing the panic in his voice, Lucas thought about being blocked. His jaw clenched. But his voice remained cold and hard: “She’s your wife. Why would she be with me?”
Silence stretched between them.
Nathan’s voice cracked: “She loves you so much and you don’t even care.”
Before hanging up, Nathan said the last sentence: “Even if you don’t care about her anymore, at least check her
Twitter.”
“Check her Twitter?” Lucas muttered.
Then he opened Sophia’s profile.
Reading through her posts, his heart felt like it was being crushed in a vise.
He could barely breathe.
All these years, he’d been wrong about her.
She’d tried to explain back then. Why hadn’t he believed her?
After she left, he’d been consumed with proving himself–making it big, showing her Nathan wasn’t better than him.

Chapter 11
He wanted to tell her she’d picked the wrong guy.
Turns out he’d been wrong from the start.
She’d never betrayed him. And she’d even been pregnant with his child.
That realization hit like a knife to the chest.
Immediately, he called his assistant: “Find Sophia. Now.”
Within minutes, his assistant called back: “Ms. Williams took the 8 AM train to Montana this morning.”
Hearing this news, Lucas was completely stunned.
“She’s already gone? What’s she doing in Montana?”
Then he directly grabbed his jacket and ran.
Lily blocked his path: “Lucas, we’re getting married. Where are you going?”
Lucas stopped, reminded her with cold voice:
‘It’s a fake engagement to test Sophia’s feelings. Remember? Don’t cross the line.”
Hearing Sophia’s name, Lily’s face darkened.
She said hysterically:“Why can’t it be real? I’ve been in love with you for so fucking years!”
Lucas’s eyes went cold. “But I never loved you. The only reason I agreed to this fake marriage was because you were her friend.”
After saying that, he pushed past her and left.
Lily stared after him, rage building in her chest.
“This isn’t fair!” she screamed at his retreating figure,
Five years she’d stood by him. Five years since Sophia walked away.
Why wasn’t it enough to let him love her back?
