Chapter 66
Shane was out partying with friends. He usually ignored calls when he was out, but Natalle was the exception.
He slipped into a quieter corner to answer. “Miss me already, Nat? It’s only been a few days.”
He was smooth–talking and every bit the playboy on the outside, yet somehow, he still hadn’t managed to land a real girlfriend.
Natalie skipped the banter and got straight to the point. “Shane, your family owns a logistics company, right?”
“Yeah, we do. But it’s not doing great. Mom’s planning to sell it. Why the sudden interest?” Shane asked.
Natalie didn’t mince words. “Sell it to me at market price. I need it.”
“Huh? You’re going into business now?”
“Something like that.”
Shane was pretty generous. “Since it’s you asking, I wouldn’t dream of saying no. Just pay us back when you can.”
“Oh, please. Do I look like I can’t afford it?” Natalie teased.
When she decided to leave, she sold off all her jewelry and designer bags, netting two to three million dollars.
She could’ve just let the money sit, but she invested it instead, and a few lucky breaks later, she’d made a nice
return.
Later, after her comeback, one of her works sold for a sky–high price. She funneled some of those earnings into Wings of Canvas and invested in a promising new project in Dexia, both of which turned out to be smart moves.
By now, she had built up a decent fortune.
Shane snapped back to attention. “Right. I almost forgot–you’re the wealthy socialite with connections in every industry. I’ll talk to my mom and get back to you first thing tomorrow.”
“Okay. Thanks, Shane.”
Later, after showering and blow–drying her hair, Natalie lay in bed, still shaken by everything that had happened that night.
Vera couldn’t have been in critical condition. Otherwise, Hugh and Victor wouldn’t have left the house.
The claim that Vera’s condition had worsened was simply a ruse–Daphne’s way of luring Natalie to the Spencer residence.
Daphne knew Vera was the one person Natalie cared about most. Even if Natalie suspected a trap, she’d still go to check on Vera.
As it turned out, everything unfolded exactly as Natalie had anticipated. So she decided to play along, curious to see what kind of twisted game Daphne and Sienna were up to.
What she hadn’t expected was just how far they’d go.
And in the end, when Sienna got what she deserved, she had no one to blame but herself.
Daphne had been waiting at home for good news, her eyes heavy with exhaustion but refusing to give in to sleep. When Sienna finally walked in, Daphne hurried over, eager for answers.

Sienna fixed her with a venomous glare. “Mom, don’t you think you should be asking about me first?
Only then did Daphne notice Sienna’s disheveled appearance. Her makeup was sineared, her hair was a mess, and a bright red slap mark appeared glaring across her face.
A sharp jolt of alarm hit Daphne. “Sienna, what happened? How did you end up like this?”
Sienna’s hatred flared, hot and furious. Gritting her teeth, she spat out the story.
Daphne swayed on her feet, dizzy with fury. “How is this possible? You gave Natalie three times the normal dose. How did she even wake up? And she tased you?”
Sienna clenched her fists, her eyes burning with rage. “Tha bitch must’ve seen it coming. She had been waiting to screw me over. I want her dead, Mom.”
Earlier, when she was brought into the hotel room, she regained consciousness within minutes. Patrick ripped at her clothes, tearing them off until she was naked.
No matter how desperately she explained, he wouldn’t listen. He was sure she was just trying to get away.
Sienna fumbled for her phone, desperate to show him she was the one who’d called him, but when she reached for it, it wasn’t there. Without the only thing that could confirm her identity, she was trapped.
