Chapter 68
Hallsbrook College was semi–public, and visitors could enter the campus if they registered with their ID.
Natalie showed her ID and headed for the basketball court.
Prior to her visit, Natalie had found out that Kevin was a member of the college’s basketball team. He would play basketball almost every day, and he usually only went home when night fell.
The atmosphere on the campus was vibrant, refreshing, and filled with the energy of youth. After walking about 20 minutes, Natalie finally found the basketball court.
She stood outside the green fencing, searching for Kevin among the crowd. The young man in a white jersey was actually Kevin.
Natalie watched from afar and didn’t bother him. She planned to walk over when Kevin took a break.
People kept passing by, but Natalie didn’t budge the slightest bit. It was hard for Kevin, who was playing basketball, not to notice her.
Kevin’s team member looked in Natalie’s direction and asked softly, “Kevin, that young lady has her eyes glued on you all the time. Is that your new admirer?”
Holding the basketball, Kevin looked through the fencing, his gaze laced with arrogance and disdain. “I don’t know any old woman like her.”
His team member replied, “You’re truly something. The young and old women are all attracted to you. I bet she’s waiting to get your contact number.”
Kevin’s eyes remained fixed on Natalie. “I’ll go over for a bit.”
Then, he tossed the basketball to his team member before striding toward Natalie.
Natalie didn’t expect Kevin to approach her himself. She was slightly surprised initially, but her good impression of him was gone as soon as he started speaking.
“Ma’am, I’m not interested in old women. Don’t think of asking for my number. Just leave and stop bothering me when I’m playing basketball,” Kevin warned.
Did Kevin just take her as his obsessive admirer? Wasn’t he too harsh?
Seeing that he was irritated and wanted to walk away, Natalie called out, “Kevin, you’ve got something wrong here. I’m not your admirer. I’m here because I want to ask you about something.
“Do you still remember the car accident that happened at the junction of Lumier Street and Wisdom Avenue three years ago?”
Kevin froze and looked back instantly.
He was only a college student who had yet to experience the ways of the world. The shocked look in his eyes was apparent, no matter how he tried to hide it. “Car accident? I don’t know anything.”
Natalie walked up to him and ignored his answer as she continued, “I was the victim who got hit in the rain that night. Kevin, since I’ve come here for you, I must’ve already gathered the proof.
“You know better than anyone else that the driver who turned himself in wasn’t the real perpetrator. I only want justice for myself.”
Kevin dared not look at Natalie. Panic was written all over his face as he frowned and replied, “You got the wrong

person. I didn’t witness any car accident three years ago. I’m going back to the game. Stop looking for me.”
Kevin hurriedly returned to the court, but Natalie had no intention of leaving Kevin’s statement was crucial to her, so she wouldn’t give up so easily.
About half an hour went by, but the sky was still bright. Kevin wasn’t in the mood to play basketball anymore. He carried his backpack and left the court, but he caught sight of Natalie from the corner of his eye.
Wearing a deep frown, he quickened his pace.
As expected, Natalie caught up to him. Frustrated, he said adely, “Can you stop following me? I thought I made things clear enough to you. Have you no shame?”
Standing next to him, Natalie wasn’t furious at all.
Kevin didn’t know her and wasn’t even related to her. So why would he want to get involved in the mess? Hence, Natalie should at least show her sincerity. “Last month, Hallsbrook College gave you a chance to study abroad. You told your family about this, but your parents rejected you.
“That’s because you have a younger brother who’s still in high school, and your family can’t afford to support your expenses abroad.
“If you’re willing to help me, I’ll pay for all your expenses. can even take care of your parents and brother for you when you study abroad.”
