Chapter 67
After everything was over, Sienna refurned to her car and find her phone on the passenger seat When she opened it, the screen displayed the message she’d sent Park the one with the hotel room number.
That bitch Natalie must’ve seen it. That was how she knew the exact room and told Xavier.
Natalie deserved to fucking die.
Daphne’s heart ached for Sienna, but a deeper fear settled in “Sienna, revenge against Natalie can wait Right now, the real issue is Xavier. How are you going to explain this to him? He saw you with that man in that state. Even if I believe nothing happened, Xavier never will.
“And now that he knows you were never pregnant, he’ll divorce you for sure. Spencer Group can’t afford even the slightest scandal right now.”
Sienna knew exactly how bad things were. She’d tried calling Xavier on her way back, but he’d blocked her on everything. She couldn’t even get through to him.
Feeling frustrated and on edge, all she wanted was to quiet her mind. “Mom, I really need to go upstairs and rest. Can we talk about this tomorrow?”
Daphne paused for a beat before replying, “Of course. I’ll have someone run your bath right away. Get some sleep. We’ll figure this out together tomorrow.”
Yesterday’s incident didn’t interfere with Natalie’s trip to Hallsbrook. Since her flight wasn’t until evening, she spent the morning visiting Lorraine.
* When Natalie brought up her plan to buy the logistics company, Lorraine didn’t object. In fact, she signed the
transfer agreement that same day.
Lorraine truly adored Natalie. She clung to Natalie, unwilling to let go, and before Natalie left, Lorraine even gathered up all the pricey health supplements her clients had given her, insisting Natalie take them.
Natalie tried to refuse, but Lorraine wouldn’t take no for an answer. In the end, Natalie had no choice but to lug the bags of gifts out with her as Shane led the way.
Natalie couldn’t bring herself to accept the gifts. She pushed them back into Shane’s arms when they reached the building’s entrance. “I can’t take these. I already feel terrible lying to your mom.”
“Just keep them. She already gave them to you. She’s got more health supplements than she’ll ever use. No sense letting them go to waste,” Shane said.
Natalie refused, saying, “It doesn’t matter what you say. I’m not taking them. And you should really tell her the truth sooner rather than later. She doesn’t seem unreasonable. I think she’d understand.”
Shane let out a sigh. “I know it’s wrong to lie to her, but how am I supposed to look her in the eye and say I’m not into women? Forget it. I just need more time.”
“Fine. It’s your call. But you can’t put this off forever. Eventually, you’ll have to tell her the truth.”
After saying goodbye to Shane, Natalie returned to the hotel to grab her suitcase before driving to the airport.
Hallsbrook wasn’t far from Grendale, just a little over two hours by plane.
Natalie spent the time researching Dejah Port. Once she settled this business, she’d have her logistics company start drafting the bid documents.,
