Nevaeh stepped back quickly, barely dodging in time.

“Sheena is suffering in the operating room. Stop making a scene!”
Florence’s eyes turned red as she felt sorry for Sheena, her eldest daughter.
She echoed, “Nevaeh, it’s all your fault. Sheena wouldn’t have had to suffer if it weren’t for your fiance.”
Nevaeh sneered, “Did I ask her to be the other woman?”
In the next second, Kenneth slapped her across the face hard, causing a loud smack.
He used so much force that her head tilted away, and a trace of blood trickled down the corner of her mouth.
He pointed at her, his finger trembling, and spat, his spittle barely missing her face, “You damned girl! You’re such a disgrace!”
Nevaeh cried.
Her grievances accumulated over twenty years erupted at once.
“You’ve always favored Sheena since we were little.
“Am I really your daughter?” she questioned.
Florence scolded, “Sheena has always been in poor health. Why did you have to…”
Nevaeh’s gaze turned sharp as she scoffed.
“Yeah, she’s in poor health, so I gotta let her have everything, including my blood, my bone marrow, and my fiance. Is that right? Huh?”
“How dare you talk back!”
Kenneth was even more enraged.
“She’s in there suffering all because of you! Because of your jealousy and your viciousness!”
Nevaeh suddenly laughed out loud as she spotted the resentment in the eyes of Kenneth and Florence.
She should have realized sooner that her only mission being alive was to provide blood for Sheena.
Sheena had been diagnosed with leukemia in early childhood and had needed a sibling’s bone marrow transplant, which was the only reason why Kenneth and Florence had a second child.
From the moment Nevaeh was born, she was destined not to be loved and treasured.
