Chapter 17
She thought, “Forget it. I gotta endure it for the sake of that 15 million dollars. He’s like my boss, and I shouldn’t up-
set him.
“It’s just… maybe the Fenton family has already heard about me.
“What if they know I’m Isaac’s ex-fiancee?
“Wait. So what if they know?
“Isaac cheated on me. I’ve never done anything wrong. Why wouldn’t I dare to face them?”
At this, she abruptly raised her head.
Noticing this, Erasmo was dumbfounded.
He couldn’t help but wonder, “Is she this nervous? She’s acting like crazy.”

They didn’t hit a single red light on the way to the Fenton’s mansion.
Before Nevaeh could fully psych herself up, the Maybach sedan had already come to a perfect stop at the entrance of the mansion.
A woman in a long dress was supporting an elderly lady while standing next to the car, her scrutinizing gaze fixed on the tinted windows with curiosity and affection in her eyes.
“Get out,” Erasmo said.
“I…”
Nevaeh had been bracing herself along the way, yet now, she just wanted to chicken out.
Feeling a headache coming on, Erasmo taunted, “What is it?
“It seems someone no longer wants that 15 million dollars. Then I…”
“Nonsense!”
Without waiting for him to continue, she pushed open the car door and stepped out.
In the next second, Acantha and Erasmo’s grandmother Leanna Fenton grabbed her arms and led her inside.
Utterly nervous, she turned around and cried for help with her eyes.
But Erasmo just sighed helplessly.

It seemed they couldn’t keep the secret any longer.
He rubbed the bridge of his nose, took a deep breath, and followed them.
To his surprise, he heard cheerful waves of laughter coming from the living room, and warmth filled the air.
Anson was stunned when he saw Leanna, who had always been hard to please, chuckle at Nevaeh’s remark.
Then he turned to look at Erasmo.
Erasmo was surprised, too, and a faint smile played on his lips.
He had thought Nevaeh would give their secret away.
But as it turned out, she immediately won over Leanna and Acantha by sharing amusing childhood anecdotes with
them.
The radiant, adorable smile on her face made it hard for Erasmo to look away as he realized she was different from any woman he had ever met.

After dinner, Leanna went for a walk in the courtyard together with Nevaeh.
Standing next to Erasmo, Acantha nodded in satisfaction.
“Asmo, she’s so cute and fun.”
Without saying anything, Erasmo stared at Nevaeh’s back, feeling a bit uneasy somehow.
“How did you know her? How come I didn’t hear about her sooner?”
“Don’t ask me anything I don’t wanna say.”
Erasmo’s gaze turned cold. “Go ahead and plant your mole. I’ll deal with him properly after I find out who he is.”
Acantha shrugged, not taking his threat seriously at all.
After Leanna came back with Nevaeh, she immediately had the servants prepare a room.
She said to Erasmo, “It’s late today. Stay the night with Neva.”
He shook his head, wanting to say no. “I…”
“It’s been forever since you came back. And you won’t even stay for breakfast with me?”
Leanna stroked her chest, pretending she might have a heart attack and faint at any second.
Erasmo sighed helplessly and could only follow Nevaeh.
He stepped into the room and closed the door. Turning around, he saw that she had already placed the blanket on the floor and spread it.

She looked up and met his deep eyes devoid of any emotion.
“Don’t worry. I’ll take the floor.”
