Chapter 5
Three days later, Damien married Lana and Lila separately in Bangladesh.
They flew to Europe for a month-long honeymoon.
Damien posted a photo on Instagram-two bloodstains on hotel bed sheets.
He made a victory gesture.
In the comments below, there were exclamations of admiration: “Legend! Living the dream, man.”
“Congratulations to the trio on getting married! You won!”
But Damien, smoking on the balcony, felt no joy of conquest at all.
Instead, unease began to spread in his heart.
Damien kept refreshing his phone screen.
That day, after Damien rescued Lana and Lila from the fire, they tearfully accused me of deliberately setting the fire to burn them
alive.

He had wanted to go back and save me, but stopped because of what Lana and Lila said.
He hadn’t even touched them yet-he couldn’t risk losing everything now.
Damien decided he had to teach me a lesson this time.
He stood outside the fire scene and ordered his bodyguards to wait five minutes before going in to save me, then went straight to the airport with Lana and Lila.
Damien planned to finish his goal quickly so he could return early to coax me.
But for a whole month, I hadn’t replied to a single message he sent me.
Damien’s thoughts grew increasingly restless. Unable to bear it any longer, he grabbed his coat, preparing to leave.
Lana and Lila were still immersed in passion, lying naked on white sheets. Seeing Damien’s movement, they both frantically clung to his waist, “Damien, where are you going?”
Damien impatiently shook off their hands, “Back home.”
But when he arrived there, the scene before him made him collapse…
Damien stared blankly at everything before him-the basement had become a blackened ruin.
After a long while, he angrily kicked the bodyguard in the stomach, “Where’s Elara? Didn’t I tell you to save her?”
The bodyguard trembled as he answered with his head down, “Mr. Jackson, we don’t know what happened either. The madam seemed to have vanished into thin air. The firefighters said they found no body inside.”
“We tried to report to you, but the signal couldn’t connect.”
“You told us not to disturb your trip with the two ladies before you left, so we postponed it until you returned.”
Just then, a delivery man called from the gate: “Mr. Jackson! There’s a package for you.”
Damien opened it with a cold face-a divorce decree.
Damien’s fingers trembled uncontrollably as he muttered to himself, “I forgot to withdraw it. Elara must know and be heartbroken.”
Then he tried to comfort himself, “It’s okay, as long as I find Elara and coax her, we can remarry.”
He took one last look at the basement ruins and returned to the bedroom.
But in the bedroom, everything related to me had disappeared.
The entire room had been remodeled, with no trace of my existence.
The bed had been replaced with a princess-style canopy bed, the curtains changed to pink, even the carpet was new.
Damien suddenly lost his temper.
“Clear all this garbage out of here!”
“Where are Elara’s things? Bring back all of Elara’s things!”
The butler hurriedly approached Damien to explain: “Sir, after Miss Lana and Miss Lila moved in, they ordered us to throw away all of the madam’s belongings, saying it was your command.”
Damien flew into a rage, punching the butler in the face.
“Who told you to listen to them!”
The butler fearfully kept his head down, not daring to answer.
en took out his phone and refreshed his messages again.
I still hadn’t replied.
All the calls he made showed as unanswered.
Damien lowered his head, typing somewhat frantically.
“Elara, I’m back. I swear I’ve finished playing games. Please, stop playing hide and seek with me, okay?”
“I swear, from now on, I’ll only look at you. Come back quickly.”
But this time, Damien discovered he had been blocked.
Damien angrily smashed his phone on the floor, roaring at the bodyguards standing behind him: “Find her! I want to see Elara within three days!”
Meanwhile, Thorne sat by my bed, peeling an apple for me.
“Feeling better today?”
I nodded and said to him, “Thank you.”
He smiled as he cut the apple into small pieces for me, “No need to thank me-we’re getting married soon.”
I felt a little shy.

After Damien handed me the divorce papers, my heart was broken.
And my childhood friend Thorne suddenly asked how I’d been lately.
Without hesitation, I asked if he would marry me.
Seeing that he was typing for a while, I immediately regretted it and was about to explain.
But he didn’t refuse. Instead, he messaged: “I’ll return home immediately to take you to meet my parents. They all miss you.”
I was completely disappointed in Damien.
If I married someone else, I wouldn’t be hurt by him anymore.
But I hadn’t expected the fire to happen later. If Thorne hadn’t appeared in time, I would have almost died.
Thinking of the pain I’d experienced before, I clenched my fists tightly, hatred blazing in my eyes.
Suddenly, I grabbed Thorne’s wrist and looked into his eyes.
“When will we get married?”
