Dump His Dying 9

Chapter 9

Reed pulled Victoria off Avery, pointing at the damaged necklace:

“What excuse do you have now?”

Victoria collapsed into his arms, weeping. “Make her kneel at my father’s grave for a day to apologize!”

Reed hesitated for a moment, then agreed.

Avery let out a heart-wrenching scream, glaring at Reed with bloodshot eyes.

Reed had not only destroyed everything she had, violated her body and soul, but now wouldn’t even leave her this last attachment.

The biggest regret of her life was meeting Reed Bennett!

Reed’s heart lurched with sudden panic, but he quickly suppressed it.

Tomorrow after marrying Victoria, everything would be over.

At the cold gravestone, Avery was forcibly pressed down to kneel by two security guards..

Before leaving, Reed felt a twinge of conscience and said, “It will all be over soon.'”

Avery hung her head, her voice as light as smoke: “Yes, it will all be over soon.”

Reed didn’t understand her meaning and was about to ask when Victoria pulled him away.

“Reed, we have so much to prepare for the wedding. Let’s go.”

Not long after Reed and Victoria left, Victoria returned alone.

“Drag her to her parents’ graves.”

Several men grabbed Avery and dumped her in front of her parents’ tombstones.

Victoria used the tip of her stiletto to lift Avery’s chin, her eyes venomous.

“I’ve loved Reed for so many years. Why did he choose you the moment you appeared? All these years, there hasn’t been a second I didn’t want to kill you! Now, how to me, call yourself a whore! Or I’ll have your parents’ remains ground to dust!”

Avery’s pupils contracted violently. “No!”

Her forehead slammed hard against the stone.

“I’m a whore.”

Another slam.

“I’m a whore.”

After two hours of continuous head-banging, Avery was bleeding profusely, collapsing from exhaustion.

Victoria smiled with satisfaction. “I’ve changed my mind. It’s more fun to dig up your parents.”

“Please, don’t…” Blood foamed from Avery’s mouth. “Your father’s memento, I really don’t know…”

Victoria let out a contemptuous snort: “Of course you don’t know, because I planted it in your bag myself-a fake memento.”

“I’m dying soon, leaving tomorrow,” Avery begged. “Please, leave my parents alone…”

“Still trying to play the victim and get Reed’s sympathy? I’ve already used that illness trick.” Victoria rolled her eyes impatiently, waving her hand.

“Hold her down!”

Avery watched helplessly as her parents’ graves were pried open, her eyes bulging with horror.

Victoria grinned maliciously, opening the urns and having someone force Avery’s mouth open.

“Since you miss your parents so much, let me help you!”

She grabbed handfuls of ashes, stuffing them into Avery’s mouth.

“Might as well tell you-Reed never lost his memory. Remember, never appear in front of Reed again! Otherwise, I’ll make you wish you were dead!”

Victoria patted her face, walking away satisfied.

Avery curled up in front of the desecrated graves, laughing deliriously.

Wasn’t she already living a fate worse than death?

The next day, a ray of harsh sunlight woke Avery.

She squinted, her mind completely blank.

Where was she? Why was she in front of an excavated grave?

She seemed to have forgotten so many things.

She only remembered she was dying, leaving today.

Guided by some inexplicable instinct, Avery returned home.

She took out her documents and phone, calling a taxi to the airport.

On the way, they passed an extraordinarily luxurious wedding motorcade.

Through the taxi window, Avery’s gaze briefly met that of the man in the wedding car before quickly looking away.

She didn’t recognize him, yet felt an inexplicable revulsion.

The driver commented: “That’s the city’s biggest tycoon, Bennett Industries’ CEO remarrying. They say he once adored his ex-wife beyond measure. Huh. Wonder how long this one will last.”

As the plane took off, Avery watched the city recede below.

Whatever had happened to her there, this would be the last time she ever looked upon it.
