Demian’s Last Wish
“Look at how considerate Delilah is. Damon, when are you planning to marry her?”
Seeing Delilah’s belly grow larger by the day, Agatha was determined not to let the Price family’s first grandchild be born without a proper title.
Jamal had also thought about this issue. “Your grandfather’s out for a walk. He should be back soon. When he returns, you should discuss this matter with him yourself.”
When Mark Price heard about Damon’s divorce from Hazel, he nearly flipped the entire old
residence upside down.
If not for Agatha and Jamal’s attempts to mediate, Damon would have already been dragged home for a round of family discipline.
Jamal had no desire to anger his father again over matters concerning the younger
generation.
“Uncle, Auntie, Damon knows what he’s doing. You don’t need to pressure him. I’m not upset,” Delilah said with a soft smile, her understanding demeanor making her all the more
likable.
Yet no one in the room was truly thinking of her, so her words went unanswered.
Ahem!
A cough from the doorway caught everyone’s attention.
“Damon, come to the study with me. I have something to say to you,” Mark Price
announced.
His gaze only briefly swept over Delilah, but she could clearly feel the disdain in the old man’s eyes.
With Mark speaking, neither Agatha nor Jamal dared to interject. They quickly urged the
cook to prepare the meal instead.

In the study, Damon had barely closed the door when a book came hurtling toward his head.
He swiftly dodged and managed to catch it mid-air.
“Grandpa, I’m an adult now. Can you stop throwing books at me?”
“Hmph!” Mark snorted, pursing his lips in frustration as he realized he missed.
“Tell me, whose child is that woman carrying?” Without waiting for Damon to sit, the old man threw out a bombshell of a question.
Damon had publicly claimed the child in Delilah’s belly was his, but how had his grandfather seen through the facade so quickly?
“Don’t act so surprised. I know what kind of person you are. Even if you don’t like Hazel, you’d never fall for a woman as greedy and transparent as Delilah.”
The old man had seen Delilah more than once before. Back when she was with Demian, he’d
met her twice.
He vividly remembered her first visit to the Price family’s old residence. Her eyes had
gleamed with greed, and her every move reeked of small-mindedness.
She was simply not the type of person one could warm up to.
“Grandpa, you know me well,” Damon replied, a faint smile playing on his lips. “You’re right—the child Delilah is carrying isn’t mine. But it does belong to the Price family.”
Mark’s hand froze mid-air, the book he was holding trembling slightly. A flicker of panic crossed his eyes.
“You mean…”
Damon nodded. “Yes, the child in Delilah’s belly is Demian’s.”
The book slipped from Mark’s hand and landed with a dull thud. His eyes glistened faintly with unshed tears.

Demian’s last Wish
The name Demian was a forbidden topic in the old residence. Mentioning it inevitably dredged up sorrowful memories for everyone.

Especially for the old man. He was already advanced in years, and when Demian passed away, he was bedridden for several days, only recently recovering somewhat.
If it weren’t for giving the old man something to hold onto, Damon wouldn’t have revealed
this matter to him.
This was something he had promised Demian back then: to keep the truth a secret and prevent Delilah from becoming the target of public criticism.
After much deliberation, the only way to shield Delilah from scandal was to admit that the child in her belly was his own.
This way, the child could be registered under the Price family, ensuring Demian’s last bloodline remained within the family.
As for Delilah, regardless of her character, she was still giving birth to a Price family child. The Price family would ensure she lived a life of luxury.
“When the child is about to be born, I’ll marry her. Once the child is officially part of the
family, I’ll divorce her. However, she’ll still be allowed to stay in the Price household and
remain with the child.”
The old man lowered his head slightly, his expression solemn. After a long silence, he finally spoke.
“So be it. It won’t delay your plans. But it’s a pity for Hazel. Does she know the truth?”
“Demian didn’t allow me to tell anyone about this,” Damon replied.
He had been tempted several times to explain the situation to Hazel, but she refused to listen. Perhaps it was for the best-it spared him from breaking his promise to Demian.
“Demian was truly good to Delilah,” the old man said with a sigh.

Demian had died in a bungee jumping accident. When they retrieved him from the scene, he was still breathing faintly. He passed away after a brief rescue attempt in the hospital.
He had always been afraid of heights. If it weren’t for something Delilah said, he would never have gone bungee jumping on his own.
Even in his last moments, he defended Delilah, afraid the Price family would blame her for
his death.
It was only after Damon promised to protect her that Demian finally closed his eyes.
“Demian was sentimental. If he knew about Delilah’s behavior now, he’d probably feel worse than death.”
“Enough. The meal should be ready. Let’s go eat,” the old man said, standing up and discreetly wiping the corners of his eyes.
Damon wasn’t much better off. He forced himself to hold back his tears.
At the dining table, Agatha placed a shrimp onto Delilah’s plate.
“Eat more shrimp. It’s good for the baby.”
Delilah hesitated and glanced at Damon, who pretended not to notice and focused on eating.
“Damon, how can you be so inattentive? How will you be a good father in the future? Hurry and peel the shrimp for Delilah!”
Without lifting his head, Damon replied, “Peeling shrimp doesn’t affect the baby. If she wants to eat, she can peel them herself.”
“You-”
“Enough! What’s the point of arguing over shrimp? Have the cook peel them and bring them back. Problem solved!”
The old man’s words silenced the table.

someone pick a good date and arrange for Damon and Miss Hasani to get married as soon as
possible. The sooner, the better.”
Damon had just taken a sip of soup and nearly choked at the old man’s words.
“Grandpa, didn’t I just say to wait until-”
“Wait for what? Do you want rumors about Miss Hasani’s illegitimate pregnancy to spread before you act?”
