Damon hesitated, glancing between the retreating Hazel and Delilah, who looked frail and pitiful beside him. In the end, he
relented and supported Delilah as they turned back toward the banquet hall.
“Damon, was that Hazel at the door just now?”
Mark’s eyesight no longer sharp, had caught a glimpse of Hazel from afar but wasn’t entirely certain. Upon seeing Damon nod in
confirmation, the old man frowned deeply.
“If Hazel was here, why didn’t you invite her in?”
Delilah, seated beside the patriarch, kept her head down, clutching her belly as if shielding herself. She dared not look up, knowing
full well that Grandpa’s fondness for Hazel far surpassed his regard for anyone else in the family.
“There weren’t enough seats prepared since we didn’t know she’d bring someone with her.”
In truth, seating arrangements had been handled by Agatha, but the suggestion to reserve a seat for Hazel had come from Delilah.
No one had expected Hazel to show up at Damon’s wedding, given the complicated history between them.
Yet the fact that she had come, only to leave before entering, reflected poorly on the Price family’s hospitality-a thought that
clearly displeased Mark.
“Hmph! So this is the so-called etiquette of you younger folks? Blocking someone at the door instead of inviting them in, then telling them there’s no seat when they’re ready to enter-what kind of nonsense is that? Might as well tell her outright you don’t
want her here!”
Mark shot Delilah a glare. “There was no need to send Hazel an invitation in the first place. Who knows what your real intentions
were?”
Delilah kept her head bowed, remaining silent. It was her wedding day, and stirring up trouble now would do her no good.
Damon, on the other hand, seemed lost in thought, his mind replaying the brief interaction with Xander. He barely registered
Mark’s scolding.
Breaking the awkward silence, Agatha spoke up. “Delilah, are you alright? Does your stomach really hurt? Should we call a
doctor?”
“No need, Auntie. I’m fine. I’ve just been standing for too long. I’ll be fine after some rest.
“Auntie’? The ceremony is about to start; it’s time to start calling me ‘Mom.”” Agatha took Delilah’s hand, her smile full of
approval.
To her, qualities like elegance or character didn’t matter. What mattered was that Delilah could bring heirs to the family-a duty she considered paramount for a daughter-in-law.
Mark, visibly annoyed, cast one last glance at the pair before standing and leaving the hall without a word.

Before the wedding had even concluded, social media was already flooded with photos and comments about the event. While many posts romanticized the ceremony, a keen few noticed glaring issues.
“For a family like the Prices, isn’t this wedding a bit too plain? I heard only close relatives were invited.”
“Someone pieced together photos from various media outlets-the banquet only has eight tables.”
An online user had compiled images from different angles, reconstructing the entire setup of the wedding venue. Media outlets,
wary of offending the Prices, had deliberately focused their shots on one corner of the hall to avoid showing how sparse it was, but
the combined images left no room for doubt.
“Seriously? A family as prominent as the Prices only hosting a few tables for their heir’s wedding? If I were the bride, I’d feel
disrespected.”
“No need to speculate-it’s clear the Prices don’t like this bride. Rumor has it the patriarch walked out before the ceremony even
started. He’s the groom’s grandfather; there’s no way he doesn’t care. The only explanation is that he doesn’t care for the bride.”
“Ah, so marrying into wealth after getting pregnant isn’t all sunshine and rainbows after all!”
That evening, Sully held up her phone in front of Hazel, eagerly looking at her as if awaiting praise.
The screen was filled with netizens’ criticism of the wedding and insults directed at Delilah.
“On her wedding day, being slammed like this… can you imagine how Delilah will feel when she sees this tonight?”
This was something Xander had told her after he returned. She wasted no time in taking advantage of the situation and posted it
online using a burner account.
“She’s the type to hold grudges. She’ll probably be furious and have a meltdown.” Hazel replied nonchalantly, drying her hair
while chatting with Sully.
“But if you have all this time to meddle, why not focus on helping me handle things at the company tomorrow?”
Sully shrugged, “Isn’t that obvious? With those old fossils at your company, I’ll just change into some decent clothes and put
them in their place. Oh, and I need to take care of some international business remotely. You finish up here, I’m probably going to
be pulling an all-nighter.”
After returning, Hazel had inquired about the situation with the company abroad. To her surprise, the company they had founded
together with Xander and Sully had grown exponentially and was now ranked in the top 100 companies in Country D.
Now that Xander and Sully were back, they hoped to help Hazel expand the company into the domestic market. As they were all from Country A, it felt more comfortable for them to operate within their home country.
Once the domestic market was solidified, they planned to relocate the company’s headquarters to Vernon, leaving someone to
manage the overseas side, so they wouldn’t have to keep running between countries.
The next morning, after getting ready, Hazel and Sully headed to Queen Corp. Upon entering the office, they found Jonah and Bailey waiting inside the president’s office.

Jonah was sitting on the couch, while Bailey had audaciously taken Hazel’s seat behind the desk, casually fiddling with a ph frame that was sitting on the desk.
When the door opened, the photo frame slipped from her hands and crashed to the floor, the glass shattering as she quickly jumped to her feet.
“Hazel! Do you have any manners? How can you barge in without knocking?!”
Hazel gave Bailey an incredulous look, then smirked, “Do you even know whose office this is?”
She turned to look at the bewildered Jonah standing by the side. “Looks like I should change the password for the office lock. Otherwise, any stray cat or dog could just waltz right in!”
“Watch your mouth! My dad is your elder, and you call him a cat or dog? You must have no upbringing!”
Hazel didn’t want to argue with someone like Bailey, but her words were pushing it. Just as she was about to step forward and teach her a lesson, there was a loud slap. Bailey’s head was knocked to the side, and her left cheek immediately swelled up.
Bailey covered her face, looking at the stranger in disbelief.
“You actually hit me! Dad, this filthy woman hit me! You must…”
Before she could finish, another slap landed on her right cheek, causing both sides of her face to swell.
Sully had struck hard, and the first slap made Bailey burst into tears.
At the same time, Jonah, not recognizing Sully, was stunned by her boldness in physically striking Bailey.
