Delilah was stunned by the scene before her. She wanted to urge Damon not to go, but the words were stuck in her throat, unable

to come out.

Just as the others were about to leave, Delilah suddenly collapsed onto the floor, holding her stomach. “My stomach! Damon, it

hurts so much!”

Everyone’s attention was immediately drawn to her. Damon rushed to her side in a single stride, helping her sit on the sofa, while

Jamal quickly called for the family doctor.

The check-up took half an hour, but the family doctor’s expression didn’t ease; it grew more solemn instead.

“I don’t see any immediate problems, and her condition is actually better than a few days ago. However, if Miss Hasani’s stomach

is still in severe pain, we should take her to the hospital for a thorough examination.”

As the doctor spoke, Damon caught Delilah glancing at him. He immediately realized what was going on.

He was no longer as anxious as before, instead, he calmly looked at his father and the old man.

“Dad, Grandpa, you go ahead with the recognition banquet. I’ll take her to the hospital for a check-up. If it’s necessary, I’ll have

her stay in the hospital until the baby is born.”

Both Jamal and Mark were shrewd enough to see through the situation. They didn’t care much about Delilah, but the baby in her

womb was another matter.

Damon’s arrangement was the best possible one.

At the recognition banquet, Hazel wore a simple long-sleeve dress, her pure, flawless makeup making her look like a fresh college

student-clean and comfortable.

“Letting you manage the company is a waste of your talent. You should have been a stylist. Since you’ve been back by my side, I

haven’t hired a stylist or makeup artist. None of them can do as good a job as you do.”

Sully took a sip of the red wine in her glass, her posture elegant.

“I know you, I know what suits you best, and I also know which look works for each occasion. Okay, okay, I do have a little bit of

expertise in styling ”

“So humble? That’s not like you.”

Having stood for a while, the two sat in a corner, nibbling on small cakes and chatting while sipping wine.

“Things aren’t the same here as they were abroad. Humility is a traditional virtue. By the way, Xander said he’ll be late today; he has urgent work to deal with.”

“It’s just a recognition banquet. If he’s busy, it won’t matter if he doesn’t come.”

Hazel was more focused on the online comments regarding Omar’s recognition of his granddaughter, not really paying attention

to what Sully had just mentioned.

Sully, however, watched Hazel with great interest, not saying anything, just smiling as she observed her.

Hazel finally noticed Sully’s gaze and put her phone away, looking at her. “What are you staring at me for? Sneaky, clearly up to no

good.”

“Since when did you start speaking so roughly?” Sully stared at Hazel in disbelief. Despite Hazel’s occasional strong, assertive

nature, she had never spoken like this before. The words she just uttered were crude and completely out of character.

It wasn’t just the words-Hazel’s whole approach to things had changed. If the Hazel before was like a feisty girl who would give

back as good as she got, this version of her now seemed more like a rebellious old woman.

Traditional, but not overly so, always throwing out a new phrase that surprised others and refreshed their perceptions of her.

“Isn’t this better? I thought you’d like me this way.”

“You’re right,” Sully paused for a moment, “but no, what I meant is-Xander. Don’t you think he might have feelings for you?”

Hazel’s expression was like a thunderbolt. She had never considered this before, not while abroad, and certainly not after Xander

returned.

“Stop joking around. It’s not funny at all. We have a pure, revolutionary friendship. Don’t taint it with your dirty thoughts.”

Just as she was speaking, Omar entered with an old man. Hazel patted Sully on the shoulder and quickly got up to greet them.

Omar proudly led Hazel to the elderly man and introduced her with delight.

“See? This is my granddaughter. Yes, I’m a grandfather now. If my granddaughter ever runs into any trouble, you’d better look out for her. Otherwise, I’ll be heading straight to your house-understood?”

Afterward, Omar turned to introduce the elderly man to Hazel.

“Hazel, this is Grandpa’s good friend, Theo White. Just call him Grandpa Theo. He’s retired now, but his son, Alvin, manages the company. If you need anything, just find him and mention my name.”

Hazel smiled and called out “Grandpa Theo” before receiving a large ivory envelope.

This wasn’t the first time today that Omar had introduced her to someone. He had already introduced her to quite a few people, all

of whom might be helpful in her career later on.

Hazel knew what Omar was doing-he was aware of her situation in Queen Corp and was trying to lend a hand professionally.

When the Old Master Price arrived, Hazel took the initiative to greet him. Looking behind him, she didn’t see Damon, which

surprised her. She had thought he would have come along with them.
