Chapter 15
Three days before the wedding, the Kingston family sent over a marriage agreement.
Skylar signed her name immediately upon receiving it.
Julian was irritated seeing her like this, but still felt compelled to advise her.
“You’re signing without even reading it? Aren’t you afraid the Kingston family is setting you up?”
Skylar looked completely unconcerned:
“I did read it. There’s nothing special.”
“Besides, Lord Kingston has already signed his name. If I make him wait, what if he thinks I’m unwilling?”
Julian was speechless.
A man she’d never even met had his sister so eager to please.
He finally understood what Skylar truly valued.
On the wedding day, Skylar wore a diamond-encrusted wedding dress’ and got into the wedding car sent by the Kingston family.
The Winters family followed in another car.
When they arrived at the venue, they saw someone unexpected.
“Knox?!”
Skylar couldn’t hide her shock: “What are you doing here?”
Knox just smiled without speaking.
A bodyguard stepped in front of Knox.
“Don’t you know whose territory you’re on? Show some respect to Lord Kingston.”
“Lord Kingston?!”
Now the Winters family was even more shocked.
They never imagined that the legendary Lord Kingston was actually Knox!
Julian shook his head in disbelief.
“How is this possible?”
“Skylar, what’s going on here?”
Julian turned to see that Skylar’s face had completely drained of color.
He nudged his sister.
Skylar’s tears came pouring down, ruining her eye makeup.
“No, this is absolutely impossible.”
Seeing her like this, Julian was completely bewildered. After all, Skylar had dreamed of marrying Lord Kingston, and Knox had been
her devoted admirer.
She had already signed the marriage agreement, and Knox wasn’t going anywhere.
He would probably treat her even better after marriage.
Why was Skylar crying as if her parents had died?
He pushed Skylar’s shoulder.
“What are you doing? Didn’t you say you wanted to get married? You’ve cried off all your makeup.”
“Let me tell you why,” Knox said leisurely, dusting off his sleeve before turning to instruct:
“The wedding will begin now.”
A door on the side of the hall opened.
Two black-clad bodyguards escorted in a tall, heavy-set man.
The man looked to be at least in his thirties, but his expression was like that of a six-year-old child, giggling stupidly.
Knox smiled like a devil from hell.
“Let me introduce everyone to today’s groom, Timothy Kingston.”
Skylar collapsed to the ground.
“I won’t marry him! I refuse to marry this man. He’s clearly an idiot!”
The Winters parents and grandmother’s eyes nearly popped out of their heads.
They kept shouting about how this couldn’t be happening.
They tried to shield Skylar behind them.
But if Knox had nothing else, he had plenty of bodyguards.
Two men restrained each family member, pulling them aside.
Two more burly men dragged Skylar toward the altar.
“Miss Winters, you can’t back out now. You’ve already signed the marriage agreement, and you saw the name on it.”
Skylar shook her head, sobbing loudly.
“I was supposed to marry Lord Kingston! I didn’t know what Lord Kingston’s name was. This is fraud!”
“Knox, what have I done to deserve this? Why are you doing this to me?”
“Didn’t you like me the most?”
Knox repeated each word deliberately.
“You were the one who said-how could that cripple be worthy of the Winters family?”
“Skylar, I didn’t realize your family was so noble. Since you care so much about status, I found someone from the Kingston family whose status perfectly matches yours. What do you have to complain about?”
Chapter 15
Skylar was forced to go through the ceremony with the intellectually disabled man.
She screamed and cried until her voice grew hoarse.
Julian couldn’t bear it anymore and shouted at Knox:
“If you have a problem with the Winters family, take it out on me! I’m the Winters son. Let my sister go!”
Knox’s expression was hidden in shadow.
It reminded Julian of Raelyn.
On the day Raelyn agreed to the substitute marriage.
Julian couldn’t see her expression clearly either.
Perhaps from the beginning, all of this had been wrong.
He softened his voice, pleading:
“Knox, I know you still haven’t gotten over Raelyn.”
“I regret it now too. Let’s go to the Blackstone family together and bring Raelyn back properly, okay?”
Knox’s expression softened slightly.
Just then, a subordinate who had been monitoring the Blackstone family rushed in.
“Lord Kingston, something terrible has happened! The Blackstone heir has awakened! They’re planning to hold a proper wedding
ceremony for the young master and Miss Raelyn!”
