It had always been like this. Ever since I ran away with Ian, he had never once apologized for anything. Whenever I did something he didn’t like, he would just shut me down completely. He would become silent, cold, and unreachable.

The longest stretch of silent treatment was because of Eva’s fear of thunderstorms. At 3:00 am, he left me behind in a torrential downpour to find her. He didn’t come back until noon

the next day.

I only asked a few questions and did not kick up a fuss at all, but even that was enough to make him impatient. We had been living under the same roof at the time, but I might as

well have been a stranger to him.

Seven days passed before I finally caved. I apologized, saying I should not have doubted him. Only then did he start speaking to me again.

But now? I did not even look at him. I walked right past.

Ian froze, his expression turning gloomy.

I continued walking with Dad, chatting casually with his business partners.

It was not until later, when I finally had a moment to slip away and touch up my makeup in the restroom, that I-very unfortunately-ran into Eva.

I had no interest in engaging with her and turned to leave without a word. However, just as I stepped out of the restroom, Eva grabbed my arm.

She hissed, “Sienna, you shouldn’t have come back!”

There was a flicker of cunning in her eyes. Suddenly, she collapsed backward.

There weren’t many people around the restroom, so it was quiet. The thud of her body hitting the floor and her low groan immediately drew attention.

Before I could even react, a sharp slap struck my face.

Ian stormed out from behind me, fury burning in his eyes. “Sienna, why can’t you just

leave Eva alone?”

He shot me a look full of hatred before turning and gently lifting Eva into his arms. “Don’t be afraid. You’ll be alright. I’ll take you to the hospital right now.”.

I stared at him as he left anxiously. Then, I calmly reached for my phone. The daughter of the party’s host, also my best friend, picked up on the first ring.

“Can you get the surveillance footage from the camera right outside the restroom? It should’ve caught everything.”

Minutes later, the video appeared in my inbox. Just as I was about to send the full clip out,

Sebastian stepped in front of me.

“Sienna, what are you trying to do?”

I bit my lip, my fingers twisting together. Why did they always think I was the one causing trouble? I lifted my ring finger on my left hand, holding it up to him. The enormous diamond sparkled under the moonlight.

“Don’t bother me. I’ve told you, I’m getting married-”

I hadn’t even finished the sentence when Sebastian strode forward and gripped my

shoulders hard. His eyes were filled with obsession that bordered on madness.

“Sienna Xenos, I regret it. I still have feelings for you. Please don’t toy me around. I’ll lose

my mind.” His fingers traced along my collarbone and up to my neck before tightening.

Air caught in my throat. I coughed, struggling against the pressure. Then, as suddenly as he had snapped, he let go. His eyes were wild with guilt. “I’m sorry, Sienna. I just… I love you

too much.”

I said nothing and glanced up at the surveillance camera behind him.

After that night, I threw myself into work, managing the family business all while planning the wedding. I was so busy I barely had time to think about Ian or Sebastian.

A week later, Jasper and I held our wedding ceremony. I wore a custom-made gown, looking magnificent and elegant. Dad held my hand as we sauntered down the aisle. When we reached the end, he gently placed my hand into Jasper’s.

Broad-shouldered and trim-waisted with sharp, refined features, Jasper stood there like a

calm statue. He radiated quiet power and masculine grace. He looked at me and only me.

The moment our hands touched, his gaze softened. His eyes were as clear as the moon

reflected in a pool of water.

He said with a warm smile. “Darling, let’s take care of each other for the rest of our lives.”

My ears flushed red.

After the ceremony, I collapsed on the bed to rest when my phone suddenly started buzzing. It was an unknown number.

I declined the call, but it rang again and again. On the fourth try, I got annoyed and finally picked up.

Ian’s voice came through the call, shaking faintly. “Sienna… You married someone else for

real?”
