Chapter 6
Sebastian chimed in at just the right moment, “Sienna, I just saw a video online tagged ‘Wedding of the Year,’ and… your name was tagged.”
There was something barely concealed in their voices-panic. They were afraid. But what were they afraid of? Afraid that I had married someone else?
Yet long before this-back when they replaced me with Eva and betrayed me time and time again—our relationship had already ended.
I swallowed the bitterness rising in my chest and said coldly, “If you want to know, come
see for yourself.”
Ian’s voice was hoarse. “Sienna, I-”
“Ian! Sebastian! Come on, the water’s so warm here! The sun’s making me all lazy and
cozy!” Eva’s playful voice suddenly rang out in the background. Ian didn’t even get to
finish his sentence before Eva’s voice cut in like a splash of cold water.
Ian’s voice faltered, and he was now stammering, “S-Sienna, just listen to me. I-I only
brought Eva here to make it up to her. You humiliated her in front of everyone at the party, and even though she didn’t hold it against you, I’m still your boyfriend. I had to take
responsibility.”
He paused, then added quickly, “Besides, Sebastian is here too. And Eva and I, we grew up together. She’s like a sister to me. That’s all there is to it.
The more he explained, the more confident he sounded. He made it seem as if I were the one being unreasonable instead.
“You don’t need to explain. Our relationship ended a long time ago.”
Ian’s voice cut in, tense but calm. “Sienna, wait for me. I’ll come back and explain everything.”

Sebastian chimed in as well, “Sienna, please wait for me!”
Then, just like that, lan hung up.
On my end, snow was falling thick and fast. But over there? Eva was lounging in a warm
pool under the sun.
I remembered how many times I had begged Ian to take me to Hawee Island. Eva had always been there listening quietly, eyes full of envy and resentment.
I let out a low, bitter laugh. It wasn’t hard to figure out why Ian couldn’t come rushing to
me right now.
After the wedding ceremony, Jasper and I naturally spent the night together.
“If you’re not ready, I won’t pressure you,” he said to me while standing by the bed with a
steady and sincere gaze.
We had already gone on a few dates before our wedding. I had a good impression of Jasper. He was everything I had once dreamed my Prince Charming would be.
I patted the bed and smiled at him.
“We’re married now. Legally. Officially.”
The next day, we had lunch at Jasper’s family’s mansion. He came from a large and
prominent family.
Jasper brought me into the study before he started speaking with his uncles about the company. His mother didn’t give me a hard time either. She didn’t insist I help with doing the dishes or cooking.
“We’ve got maids for that. Sienna, you should start learning how to manage a company from Jasper. The sooner you get settled, the easier things will be for your parents. Then, your mom and I can finally go shopping together.”

The room was full of warmth and laughter. For the first time in a long time, I laughed too. So, this was what it felt like to be accepted.
I remembered the first time Ian brought me home. His mother had looked me up and down with disdain. “You’re Ian’s girlfriend? You’re so skinny. Can you even bear a son? I heard you’re the daughter of a wealthy family. Can you even do housework? Don’t tell me my son will have to serve you every day?”
To prove I was a good daughter-in-law, Ian sweet-talked me into washing dishes for over a dozen people in the dead of winter with my bare hands-hands that were meant to play
the piano.
Meanwhile, Sebastian, who had always claimed to protect me, just stood off to the side and said nothing.
Their mother watched while chewing her snacks and criticizing me for missing a spot.
The memory hit hard, and the pain hit me squarely in the chest.
Jasper immediately noticed and asked, “Are you tired? Do you want to go and have a rest?”
I shook my head and gave him a reassuring smile. I wasn’t tired. I was lamenting at the old
me for having trusted the wrong man.

Chapter 7
A few days later, I received a call from my former colleague at Ian’s company. She called me in tears, telling me she had accidentally lost the backup files and asked if I had another
copy.
I always backed up important files in at least two places, but she had difficulty finding them. We used to get along well, so in consideration of that, I used my lunch break to stop by the office and help her out.
She was incredibly grateful and insisted on paying me. What I did not expect was to run into Ian and Eva, who had just come back from Hawee Island. It looked like their time there had been blissful. Eva even got a pretty sun tan.
The moment Eva saw me, she apologized sweetly, saying that she was sorry for ‘stealing the brothers away’ for a whole month.
However, behind those apologetic words, her eyes gleamed with smug satisfaction-like a woman proud of her conquest.
I did not respond to her. I just fixed the work issue in a few quick clicks and then turned to leave. That was when I heard an angry outburst echo from Ian’s office.
He was throwing a tantrum again, and papers were scattered all over the floor. His assistant came out looking like she had been caught in a storm.
The door flew open just as I looked up, and our eyes met. His rage vanished instantly. His expression softened as he stood and strode toward me.
“Sienna, you’re finally here. Their proposals are complete garbage. I need you to take over the project. This company is nothing without you.’
I stared at him, baffled by his confidence that I would agree.
Why would I work under him again when I could inherit my parents’ company or build my
own?

Ian looked at me with a deep, intense gaze. “I know that whole marriage thing is fake. You just did it to make me jealous. Well, congratulations. It worked. I realize now just how much I care about you. Come back to me.’
I stepped back. My tone was polite but distant. “Mr. Blake, I’ve already resigned. I’m only here to help a friend resolve a small issue. It’s done now, so I’ll be leaving. Please get out of
my way.”
His expression darkened, and his brows furrowed together. “Sienna, do you have to act like this? Why can’t you let go of the whole thing with Eva? She has already forgiven you!”
He nearly shouted those last words.
She had forgiven me?
What exactly did I do that needed her forgiveness?
The sound of his voice triggered a memory of where I was once framed by Eva, leading Sebastian to nearly choke the life out of me. In the end, neither of them ever truly faced the
consequences.
I said nothing and just stared.
Ian tugged at his collar in frustration when he saw the lack of a reaction from me. “Sienna, I’ve been exhausted lately. Stop being mad at me. Come back and help me.”
He still had the tan from vacationing with Eva, yet he stood there, telling me to stop being
difficult.
At that moment, I saw it. Every inch of Ian, inside and out, was rotten. It was utterly disgusting.
I shook off his hand and turned to leave, but he grabbed my arm tightly. “Are you deaf, Sienna Xenos? Didn’t you hear me talking to you?”
The fury I had been swallowing for so long finally boiled over. I slapped him-hard. He stumbled back a few steps from the impact. Clutching his reddening cheek, his eyes

widened with disbelief.
“Ian, I thought I’ve made myself clear. I’ve quit, and we’ve broken up.”
“I didn’t agree to that!” he roared, his voice cracking.
I scoffed. “It’s a breakup, not a divorce. I don’t need your consent for it.”

In our fourth year together, after we had run away together and finally stabilized the
business, I had gently hinted that I wanted to get married. However, he had always just played dumb.
He would say things like, “Sienna, I haven’t earned enough yet. I can’t give you the life you deserve. Just wait a little longer. Wait for me…”
I did just that. I waited long enough for Eva to steal my position in the company and in his life. However, Ian still refused to let go.
“Sienna, no. I’m not breaking up with you. I want to marry you. Let’s go right now. We’ll · get married today.”
I stepped back, avoiding his touch. I then raised my left hand to show him the ten-carat diamond ring on my finger. “Ian, I’m already
married.”
